You can customize keyboard shortcuts by assigning keyboard shortcuts (or shortcut keys) to a command,
macro, font, style, or frequently used symbol. You can also remove keyboard shortcuts.
Assign or remove a keyboard shortcut by using the keyboard
1. If necessary, press !"#$, I to open the Word Optionsdialog bo%, and press &' **' to
select Customize Ribbon.
+. ress the "- key repeatedly until Customizeis selected, and then press "*.
/. In the Categoriesbo%, press &' **' or 0 **' to select the category that contains
the command or other item that you ant to assign a keyboard shortcut to or remove a keyboard
shortcut from.
2. ress the "- key to move to the Commandsbo%.
3. ress &' **' or 0 **' to select the name of the command or other item that you
ant to assign a keyboard shortcut to or remove a keyboard shortcut from.
ny keyboard shortcuts that are currently assigned to that command or item appear in the Current
keysbo%.

+. ress the combination of keys that you ant to assign. $or e%ample, press 6"*! plus
the key that you ant to use.
/. !ook at Currently assigned toto see hether the combination of keys is already
assigned to a command or other item. If the combination is already assigned, type a
different combination.

combination for its original purpose. $or e%ample, pressing 6"*!#- changes selected te%t to

1. If necessary, click the Filetab, click Optionsunder Word, and then click the Customize Ribbon
tab.
+. In the Customize the uick Access !oolbar and keyboard shortcutspane, click Customize.
/. In the Save changes inbo%, click the current document name or template that you ant to save
the keyboard shortcut changes in.
