Characteristics Typical Uses

C83600 85-5-5-5

0.318 Reasonable strength, excellent thermal conductivity. Sound material structure with good machining and casting properties.

Light loads and low to medium speeds; bearing shells; pump line shaft bearings; manifold bushings; pump sleeves.

C86300 Manganese Bronze

0.283 High mechanical strength, good corrosion resistance, favorable conductivity. Machinability is not as favorable in comparison to other alloys. Tensile strength can exceed 115 psi.

Highest strength cast bronze, good for applications requiring combina-tion of high bearing strength & outstanding wear characteristics; low speed extreme load applications. Gears, levers.

C89835 Bismuth Tin Bronze

0.321 Lead free replacement for C93200 bearing bronze, compliant with key legislation requirements including Federal Safe Water Act 1974-SDWA, Federal reduction of lead in drinking water act 2011, and California AF1953.

Faucets, pump components, pipe fittings, plumbing goods, water pump impellers, housings, small gears.

C90300 Navy G Bronze

0.318 Hard, strong, corrosion resistant to sea water and brine. Wear and impact resistant with good machining properties.

Heavy loads, low speeds; bushings for aircraft landing gear; bridge bearings, machine tools; trolley wheels.

C90500 Gun Metal

0.315 Hard, strong, corrosion resistant; wear resistant; impact resistant. Difficult to broach but can be reamed or bored.

Heavy loads and low speeds; piston pin bushings; valve guides; rolling mill bearings; roll bushings; piston rings.

C90700 High Tin Bronze

0.317 Hard, strong alloy with good corrosion and wear resistance, espe-cially against sea water.

Naval and sea water applications. Resistant to brine. Bearings, worm wheels, gears; good for heavy loads at low speeds. Also used in restau-rant equipment, speed reducers and worm gears.

C92200 Navy M

0.317 Excellent soldering, brazing; reasonable strength; good thermal conductivity; sound material structure.

Component castings for valves, flanges, fittings; oil pumps; gears; bush-ings; pressure containing to 550°, 3,000 psi pressure.

C93200 Bearing Bronze

0.322 Good hardness, strength and wear resistance with excellent anti-frictional qualities. Good casting, excellent machining properties.

Currently the standard cast bronze bearing material; general utility applications for medium loads and speeds.

C93600 Modified 64

0.325 High lead content gives slightly better lubricity. Lower zinc levels allow higher resistance to sulfite fluids; slightly higher anti-seizing properties.

General purpose bronze; good wear properties in high speed applica-tions. Valves, bushings, backs for line bearings, pump sleeves.

C93700 80-10-10

0.322 Good strength, low thermal conductivity; high physical properties; fair bearing qualities; excellent wear, shock.

Heavy loads, high speeds; backing for babbitt-lined bearing, wrist pin/valve rocker arm bushings; fuel/water bushings.

C95400 Aluminum Bronze

0.269 Excellent yield & tensile strength with good ductility and weldabil-ity. Unusual toughness, plus exceptional resistance to wear.

All-purpose alloy used in the chemical, marine, aircraft, machine tool and steel industries; cranes, excavators and plastic injection molds.

C95500 Nickel Aluminum Bronze

0.272 High tensile and exceptional yield values, high hardness and elon-gation; excellent bearing material, highly heat treatable.

Heavy duty bushings, bearings, gear blanks, form rolls, pump parts and various machine tools; aircraft parts and ordinance.

C95900 Aluminum Bronze

0.260 Greater aluminum and iron content results in a higher resistance to wear.

Replacement for some hardened steel wear strips and some cams when impact is not involved. Die rings, inserts and forming rolls.
