RAISING THE CONCEPT OF HIGH EXPECTATIONS

The Wide Travel & Events was established in 2008 with the purpose of gathering a range of expertise together in one place, in order to deliver a more coordinated and comprehensive service, thus bringing a wider range of services and solutions to the Portuguese Market. This may include booking the simplest flight or creating complete and often unique travel experiences or events, always paying close attention to detail.

We can pull together a wide array of different services in fields such as Corporate, Tourism, Health-care and wellness. We rely on innovative thinking to meet today’s challenges, identifying new product opportunities to suit even the most exquisite customer. Our portfolio is therefore, well diversified and can be adjusted to suit market desires in order for us to be on the front edge of the growing trend.

In that sense, we created two new brands:Wide Portugal DMC Services - specializing in Cultural Tourism and Nature Tourism and Wide Health Care Services – which focuses on the field of Health Tourism.

It was in the Oporto region and in the north of our territory that Portugal became a “country”, which is why the region has such a rich and fascinating heritage. This is a mountainous area with rivers, natural parks and steep, sloping hillsides covered with leafy vegetation. The granite from its mountains was used to build many of the region’s religious and historical monuments, such as the unpretentious Romanesque chapels and baroque churches. Here you will be able to visit, among others, the Guimarães Castle, considered to be the Nations birthplace and where its founder and first King, D. Afonso Henriques, resided.

Foi na região Porto e Norte que Portugal se formou enquanto país, sendo esta uma zona com uma herança histórica e cultural rica e fascinante, repleta de montanhas, rios, parques naturais e encostas inclinadas cobertas de vegetação. O granito destas montanhas foi usado na construção dos principais monumentos históricos, como singelas capelas românicas e igrejas barrocas.Aqui poderá conhecer entre outros o Castelo de Guimarães, considerado o berço da Nação Portuguesa e onde residiu o seu fundador e primeiro Rei, D. Afonso Henriques.

Golden plains that disappear out of sight combined with the sun and the heat impose on their people their own slow and steady rhythm. This is the Alentejo. The interior region is characterised by vast golden wheat fields that undulate in the wind, opposed to a rugged coastline of unspoiled and unexplored beaches. The open, ample landscape is scattered with cork-oaks or olive trees that have withstood the ravages of time.In the Alentejo the harsh climate and soil dictate the way of life for the people of this part of Portugal. Perhaps this is why the region’s culture has its very own particular character. Time passes slowly down here because the Alentejo follows the rhythm of the land itself.
