The summer was very LONG and TIRING for both of us. We worked full me at camp 6 days a week, then went over to our new house to work on renovaons in the evenings and on the weekend. Many nights we were there unl midnight, to then get up and do it all over again the next day. I would be lying if I said it was all fun. As the summer went along, we became discouraged and weary at mes, thinking we would never get in. In late August we were able to enjoy a week away at a NASCAR race in lower Michigan. Even then, we thought we should cancel and stay back to work on the house. Many encouraged us to take that week away to just have a break. This whole process has been a faith journey for us from the very beginning. As I said, we saw God come through in HIS perfect me. We are now pung our faith in the next step. As we get seled, we would ask for your prayers on a very specific request….. Our house does not have a garage, and currently we do not have a place to put all of our belongings. Doug has all his shop stuff, but no where to put it. For now we are storing it in half of the garage at the camp house. We can’t do that indefinitely. The lile shed we have on our property is going to have the “most needed things” for now. We would appreciate your pray- ing with us for the finances/supplies/ming of a new garage, hopefully next spring. WE HAVE MOVED!! Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will

receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23-24

Hello to all!! When we last wrote, we had just closed on our new home. We are happy to report, we are officially in our

house as of the beginning of October. Our goal was to move into it in September, but God had other plans for us. The

summer was very LONG and TIRING for both of us. We worked full time at camp 6 days a week, then went over to our new

house to work on renovations in the evenings and on the weekend. Many nights we were there until midnight, to then get

up and do it all over again the next day. I would be lying if I said it was all fun. We made some major changes to the layout

of the house, re-did much of the plumbing, put on a new roof and installed all new flooring, just to name a few of the bigger

things. There were days where I wondered where the money would come from to take care of some of the unexpected

things that came up. But God, our provider, took care of all things, in HIS perfect timing.

We were also blessed to have volunteers at just the right time, even though they were on the hottest most humid days of the

summer. As the summer went along, we became discouraged and weary at times, thinking we would never get in. In late

August we were able to enjoy a week away at a NASCAR race in lower Michigan. Even then, we thought we should cancel

and stay back to work on the house. Many encouraged us to take that week away to just have a break. Once we returned,

what was left to be done moved at a quicker pace. Our new home is very cozy and we are excited to be in it.

This whole process has been a faith journey for us from the very beginning. As I said, we saw God come through in HIS

perfect time. We are now putting our faith in the next step. As we get settled, we would ask for your prayers on a very

specific request…..

Our house does not have a garage, and currently we do not have a place to put all of our belongings. Doug has all his shop

stuff, but no where to put it. For now we are storing it in half of the garage at the camp house. We can’t do that indefinitely.

The little shed we have on our property is going to have the “most needed things” for now. We would appreciate your pray-

ing with us for the finances/supplies/timing of a new garage, hopefully next spring.

Lisa enjoyed her Registrar job this summer, and once again, was blessed with amazing volunteers to help each opening day of camp. It is not a task that one person can do alone.

At the new house she put in her flower gardens, worked along side Doug, and learned WAY MORE about housing projects than she ever thought she would.

She did not have much time for running, but she and Amanda were able to do a 5K Color Run the weekend before we moved into the house.

She puts in about 10 hrs/wk at camp and has been working on unpacking and decorating at the new house. She is looking forward to getting out and running again, as she has her goal set for her third half marathon next May.

What’s been happening at camp?

The chapel stairs were completed, and a new retaining wall was built at the camp fire circle. The remodel of Lakeside cabin

started after Labor Day family camp was done. Basically the outer shell remained, but the guys installed new roof trusses to

make it bigger inside. They are also putting in new windows, a new door, new interior paneling and new siding on the

outside.

Some of the future projects are to finish Lakeside cabin, install a new water heater in the dining hall, and preparing for the

new road and parking lot. Doug has been blessed to have a good crew of guys working with the maintenance/custodial

departments. We had a couple different retired volunteer groups here this summer as well as his weekly group of guys that

come to help wherever needed. Extra hands help make projects move along, and also provides a great opportunity to fellow-

ship. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact him. 920-850-5424 or [email protected]

Jacob and Amanda are both doing well.

Amanda has started her own massage therapy

business. She is seeing many new clients and

business is continuing to grow. She also

works part time at Rawhide Boys Ranch.

Jacob just recently accepted a full time

position at Arrow A/V in Appleton. He is excit-

ed to be doing work in his area of education.

We want to thank both of our kids for coming

up this summer to help with house projects!!

We love you!

We are very grateful for all who support our work here at Lake Lundgren Bible Camp, through prayer and finances. As we have shared at different times, we rely 100% on financial gifts from individuals and churches. Many of you have responded to our need for additional support to be able to purchase our home. Thank you for that. In this current year we have had a couple significant donors who have had to let us go or decrease their giving. We are still in need of $150-250.00/month to make up those losses. Would you prayerfully consider joining our ministry? You can use the response form below and mail a check to camp, indicating it is for Doug and Lisa Browning, or you can give online at www.llbc.org/new/give then click on donate now.
