Dear Parents and Carers, Welcome back! Hopefully you have all enjoyed some down time with your families during the school break in the wonderful autumn weather. Term 2 has brought more changes to the way NSW schools will operate. We are working hard behind the scenes, constantly adapting to the meet the needs of our students and staff in line with Department of Education guidelines. Please see the attached 'Guidelines for Families' which details information about managing a staged, phased return to school for all students. Some key points:

• We are currently preparing a timetable for all students to return to the classroom from Monday 11th May 2020 for one day a week, as well as developing guidelines around the drop off/pick up of students.(This information will be posted on our communication platforms)

• Kindergarten to Year 2 students will complete their work in a Learning Pack whilst Years 3 -6 will complete their work online.

• Learning packs for K-2 and maths text books for the older students, will be available for collection again tomorrow, Thursday 30th April 2020 from 10am-12noon.

• Online resources will be active on Wednesday morning. Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students will be using SeeSaw, whilst Years 3-6 will be using Google Classroom.

Whilst it is important that our school remains open, parents and carers are strongly encouraged to keep their children home, if possible. Students whose families are not able to appropriately supervise them at home should continue to attend school. This could be because parents or carers are working and delivering services to the community, and school supervision supports the continued function of society. It may also be appropriate that children with additional vulnerabilities continue to attend school. All students will be accessing the same remote learning activities whether they are at home or at school. Having fewer students at school increases our ability to uphold the recommended social distancing guidelines for everybody’s safety. Remember that we are able to loan school devices to families for online learning if needed. We strongly encourage the children to use the online platforms where possible. If you are having difficulty accessing the online content, please contact the school on 6543 2500. Please stay safe and well. We look forward to continuing to provide quality learning for all MPS students, and support for families, throughout the term. Kind regards, Fiona Lewis Relieving Principal

In these unprecedented times we’re all being asked to change the way we work and live. Our tradition of putting books into the hands of kids isn’t going to change, but for Term 2,

we're doing things a little differently.

Parents are able to access the online catalogue using the link below:

https://scholastic.com.au/book-club/virtual-catalogue-1/ this link will also be posted on the School’s Facebook Page

The School will still be accepting cash orders. Please ensure you enclose the order form and

cash in an envelope with your child’s name and class displayed on the front.

To reduce the number of people in the Office, a box will be placed at the front door for you to drop off your book club order.

When orders have been delivered, an announcement will be made on Facebook and via the

SkoolBag App advising pick up dates and times.

The P & C wishes to advise that due to COVID-19 public distancing restrictions, the annual Mothers Day stall will

not take place this year.

On behalf of the Staff and Students, We would like to wish our Mothers, Grandmothers and Carers a Happy Mothers

Day!
