A program is a recipe telling the computer what to do

Without a program, the computer does absolutely nothing.

A program must tell the computer exactly what to do.

Computer programs are also called software or apps.

Programs are like food recipes, which tell the cook how to make a

particular kind of food. Often, things we do follow a regular pattern, a

bit like a program.
