What have you learnt about technologies from the process of

constructing this product?

Wordpress

• I used this website to create my blog for my coursework. I decided to use this form of technology to document how I created my music magazine. This blog allowed me to update what I have done and how I have done things during the process of construction.

• After setting up the blog I learned that it was easy to navigate and link webpages to allowing me to use other platforms through the construction of my magazine.

Microsoft Publisher

• From using Publisher I was able to learn how to easily create digital versions of my flat plan and upload them by saving them as images.

• I found that by using Publisher ( initially on my preliminary task) I learned how to easily create layouts by using the ‘shapes’ section and decide on the layout easily as I was able to move sections easily and freely giving me endless opportunities.

Photoshop• This is the main technology that I used all the way through the

construction of my magazine. I used Photoshop to create all four pages of my magazine. Through experimenting with different editing techniques I was able to create and alter my images and add text to my pages in Photoshop.

• The main thing I learned when using Photoshop was being able to alter images and text so that they complimented each other on the page this made constructing my magazine a lot easier.

• I also found that by creating my flat plans on Photoshop I was able to speed up the process of construction as I didn’t have to over think the placements as I was constructing the pages.

Flickr and Pinterest

• Flickr- during the process of constructing my magazine I took a lot of photographs that I found I could create albums for on Flickr so that all of my images were in the same location and easy to link to my blog.

• Pinterest- as well as looking for inspiration from real media products I was able to use Pinterest to gain more inspiration through a wide range of images online. I was then able to put all of these images together and create moodboards.

Slideshare

• Another technology that I used during the process of planning and constructing my magazine was Slideshare. Slideshare is an online platform that I used to share Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.

• I created presentations when analysing magazine to learn about the common conventions of magazines.

• I then used PowerPoint presentations all the way through the construction of my magazine so that I could document print screens of how I created my magazine in Photoshop along side my blog.
