What experts say about Cinnamon Supplements?
The use of Cinnamon has been dated back to ancient times. This spice was well-known
in ancient Egypt, China, and Indian sub-continent for cookery and therapeutic purposes.
The use of cinnamon might be very hale and hearty but cinnamon also contains a
variety of chemicals which can be toxic when consumed in large doses. This is where
cinnamon herbal supplement play its role. Recently, a team of scientists discovered
the hypoglycemic nature of cinnamon during some clinical experiments. Later,
cinnamon was analyzed for its constituents and Cinnulin-PF® was found to be one of
the major active glucose lowering compounds. Vitabase Cinnamon is considered the
best cinnamon supplement available because of its active compound Cinnulin-PF® (a registered trademark of Integrity Nutraceuticals, Int’l., U.S. Patent# ,200, 9). The effects of cinnamon on blood sugar were tested at a USDA testing center in
Maryland, on 60 type-2 diabetics which showed a fall in blood glucose levels by 29% as
compared to placebo, increased insulin production, and lowered triglycerides and LDL-
C levels. A recent meta-analysis published in the Journal of Medicinal Food also found
significant decrease in FBG levels (almost 8%) in 83% of participants. Some studies and
patents also support the Cinnulin-PF® hypoglycemic properties. However, the effect of
cinnamon on type-1 diabetes patients is still inconclusive and more studies are required
to establish a health profile.
1g of cinnamon is the most effective amount used in the study, which is about 1/4
teaspoon. Another option for equivalent health benefits are cinnamon herbal
