What Do You Need to Change to Become Healthy? There’s an old adage, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink,” that’s especially apropos to making someone take care of themselves. If they don’t want to, or don’t believe what you’re telling them, all your efforts will fall on deaf ears. So, what do you need to change in order to become healthy? Your Mind The most important change anyone can make is to change their mindset. If you don’t want to be healthy, you won’t have the discipline necessary to change your unhealthy habits, so make up your mind to become a healthy person, and half the battle is won; only half, however - you still have to change your lifestyle. Your Attitude The second change you must make to be successful is to forget about going on a diet. Healthy people don’t diet; they live a lifestyle. Going on a diet presupposes you will go back to your old habits once you’ve attained your goal; living a lifestyle means you’ve made permanent changes and old habits have now gone by the wayside. So, you must change your attitude from one focused on temporary fixes to one focused on a permanent solution. Your Habits If one is living an unhealthy lifestyle, it’s a given your habits have to change, and not just your eating habits & change it to healthy lifestyle . Health is about more than a good diet, although it’s impossible to be healthy on a bad one; health requires adequate sleep, moderate exercise, and an attitude shift from being work-obsessed to living a balanced life. Health requires you to live for yourself and your family, not for your job. Finding a work-life balance is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do, but if you don’t, you’ll wind up like the subject of Ray Steven’s song, “Mr. Businessman” – old, lonely, and unhealthy. Your Outlook People tend to class others according to the glass principle: if the glass is half-full, you’re an optimist; if the glass is half-empty, you’re a pessimist. Looking on the bright side may be a trite saying, but it’s amazing what it will do for your health. Having a good outlook keeps you upbeat, and helps you ward off depression. Everybody gets the blues now and then, but looking for the good in life instead of the bad goes a long way towards beating the blues. A positive outlook is not possible if you’re clinically depressed; medical help is necessary to address the imbalance in your neurotransmitters, but if you’re just down in the dumps, a positive outlook is the best thing for you, and it keeps your body in a healthier state.

What Do You Need to Change to Become Healthy?

There’s an old adage, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink,” that’s especially

apropos to making someone take care of themselves. If they don’t want to, or don’t believe what you’re

telling them, all your efforts will fall on deaf ears. So, what do you need to change in order to become

healthy?

Your Mind

The most important

change anyone can make

is to change their mindset.

If you don’t want to be

healthy, you won’t have

the discipline necessary to

change your unhealthy

habits, so make up your

mind to become a healthy

person, and half the battle

is won; only half, however

- you still have to change

your lifestyle.

Your Attitude

The second change you

must make to be

successful is to forget

about going on a diet.

Healthy people don’t diet;

they live a lifestyle. Going

on a diet presupposes you will go back to your old habits once you’ve attained your goal; living a lifestyle

means you’ve made permanent changes and old habits have now gone by the wayside. So, you must

change your attitude from one focused on temporary fixes to one focused on a permanent solution.

Your Habits

If one is living an unhealthy lifestyle, it’s a given your habits have to change, and not just your eating

habits & change it to healthy lifestyle. Health is about more than a good diet, although it’s impossible to

be healthy on a bad one; health requires adequate sleep, moderate exercise, and an attitude shift from

being work-obsessed to living a balanced life. Health requires you to live for yourself and your family, not

for your job. Finding a work-life balance is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do, but if you don’t, you’ll

wind up like the subject of Ray Steven’s song, “Mr. Businessman” – old, lonely, and unhealthy.

Your Outlook

People tend to class others according to the glass principle: if the glass is half-full, you’re an optimist; if

the glass is half-empty, you’re a pessimist. Looking on the bright side may be a trite saying, but it’s

amazing what it will do for your health. Having a good outlook keeps you upbeat, and helps you ward off

depression. Everybody gets the blues now and then, but looking for the good in life instead of the bad

goes a long way towards beating the blues. A positive outlook is not possible if you’re clinically

depressed; medical help is necessary to address the imbalance in your neurotransmitters, but if you’re

just down in the dumps, a positive outlook is the best thing for you, and it keeps your body in a healthier

state.

To become a healthy person requires a lot of changes: your eating habits; your exercise habits; your

sleeping habits. These are the physical things you must change to move towards health; however, if you

don’t change the mental things too, the physical changes will be immensely harder, and you may fail in

the end and fall back into your old ways. To stay the course and truly live a healthy lifestyle, you must

change the way you think, about life, and about yourself, or you won’t achieve your ultimate goals.
