“Open Teaching - Thinning the walls”

“Conceptualisation of the process of "thinning the walls" of a classroom, course, or other formalised educational experience. Ideally, students gain required skills, requisite knowledge, self-efficacy, and develop their own personal learning network (PLN). Instructors guide the process using their own PLNs, through a variety of teaching/learning experiences, and (distributed) scaffolding.

The interactions between students here represent the notion of the gift economy. There are likely better ways to represent this type of interaction and student knowledge.”
