The FLM unit is designed for a lifetime of service. The main advantages for this lint collector are:

•FLEXIBILTY – The FLM unit is available in capacities from 6000 to 39,000 CFM. One unit will handle any combination of drying tumblers and ironers totaling up to 39,000 CFM.

The FLM unit can be installed anywhere• inside • outside • roof mounted or ceiling suspended.

•SAFETY – Wet-Type filtration eliminates the accumulation of dry, highly combustible lint inside ductwork and the surrounding laundry area.

•EFFICIENCY – This unit has no screens or filter media, which will clog and cause back pressure on tumblers or drying equipment.

The Lint Collector fan HP shall be belt-driven, tube-axialtype with cast aluminum non-sparking blades. Fan housingshall have an acrylic epoxy paint finish. Fan capacity shallhave a minimum range of approximately CFM. Weatherguards shall be provided for fan motors when required. Beltguard shall be provided for fan in rear discharge position.

Exhaust stacks equal in length to fan diameter shall besupplied for all outside installations.

CFM capacity for this installation is approximately CFM.

Motors shall be automatically protected from overloadconditions. Starters shall have ambient compensation andextra auxiliary contact for alarm purposes in event ofelectrical problems.The Lint Collector stand shall be fabricated from minimum2” x 2” x 3/16” stainless steel angle iron with gusset plates ateach corner.

"Wet Type" Lint Collector MODEL SM6One (1) “Wet Type” Lint Collector Model SM-6 asmanufactured by FLM – Fairfield Laundry MachineryCorporation, Fairfield, New Jersey. The Lint Collector shallhave spray nozzles located in the roof of the main chamberto properly wet any lint or particulate matter entering theLint collector. Internal baffles, a minimum of two (2) shall belocated strategically to insure that the incoming air issufficiently washed by the spray nozzles before it isexhausted to the atmosphere. The Lint Collector shall becompletely sealed at all joints and shall be completelywatertight.

Size, within reasonable tolerance, shall be 37” wide, 45” long,reference FLM dwg. #1941.

The Lint Collector shall be stainless steel except for the fan.The main chamber, and outlet transition shall be fabricatedfrom minimum No. 20 MSG stainless steel. The mainchamber shall feature one (1) piece construction with spot-welded standing seams.

The Hopper and internal baffles shall be fabricated from aminimum No. 20 MSG stainless steel. The Hopper shall bedesigned so that a Lint Collector bag can be attached to thedischarge end for collecting the lint.

An access door, minimum 12” by 12” shall be installed oneither side of the main chamber to allow normal routinemaintenance. The Access door shall be completely gasketedand secured with a bolted locking mechanism to preventany leakage.

The Reservoir Tank, 30” wide, 30” long and 16” deep, shall belocated beneath the Hopper tailpipe. The tank shall befabricated from a minimum No. 18 MSG stainless steel to

prevent rusting and also to simplify maintenance. The tankshall be equipped with a minimum 1” diameter overflow and1” drain and ½ “water makeup fittings. A properly sized re-circulating pump, ¾ HP, shall be located on the side of thetank. The tank shall have a bag storage rack for storage ofthe lint bags containing collected lint.Included with the reservoir tank shall be a stainless steelbaffle plate and screen rack assembly. This equipment shallbe installed inside the tank, separating the bag collectionside from the make-up waterside.

The Lint Collector shall be stainless steel except for the fan.The main chamber and outlet transition shall be fabricatedfrom minimum No. 20 MSG stainless steel (18 ga on SM39).The main chamber shall feature two (2) piece constructionwith a spot-welded standing seam completely around theperimeter to insure sufficient strength and rigidity.

Two (2) Access doors, minimum 18 inches by 21 inches, shallbe installed on one side of the panel, and on the rear panelof the main chamber to allow normal routine maintenance.The Access door shall be completely gasketed and securedwith a bolted locking mechanism to prevent any leakage.

The Reservoir Tank, 24 inches wide, 48 inches long and 18inches deep, shall be located beneath the Hopper tailpipe.The tank shall be fabricated from a minimum No. 18 MSGstainless steel to prevent rusting and also to simplifymaintenance. The tank shall be equipped with a minimum1” diameter overflow and 2” drain. A properly sized re-circulating pump, 1.5HP, shall be located at the side of thetank.
