Goals of the Partnership1. Guide school districts in creating
inventive and engaging arts programs that make schools effective places to learn.
2. Facilitate opportunities for school leadership to understand the value arts education as an effective tool for meeting instructional outcomes.
3. Empower arts educators to become thought leaders and mentors among their p-20 teaching peers
4. Equip certified and classified front line staff with the skills to effectively use arts integration techniques to build meaningful project based learning experiences during the traditional school day and during out of school time.

Buckeye Elementary SD
Buckeye Elementary School District is a rural district . In the 2013-14 academic year the district served 900 students. The district has grown from a “C” rated district in 2011 to a “B” in 2014.
The AEP has been working with this district since 2013. Since that time the district has
•Buckeye Arts Teachers contributed to the PARCC assessment
•been a recipient of the VH1 Save the Music Grant.
•Buckeye Music teachers are adopting a new music curriculum
•Superintendant Kristi Sadvick was named VHI Superintendant of the Year 2014-15
Liberty Elementary District
Liberty Elementary District is a “B” rated rural district in Buckeye, AZ . Liberty partnered with the AEP to grow their arts capacity. They will be opening their new school, a dual immersion arts school for the 2015-16 academic year.

ArtsTeachers at Buckeye Elementary School learn about polymers and how the resulting creations can be used in print making and sculpture.
Scientist as Illustrator
Conversely, a science teacher can integrate an art experience in their classroom helping children understand the importance of illustration in science learning. ( art - Jan van Kessel 1650-55)
Math and Music
Students at Westar Elementary School work with David Simmons from Arizona Broadway Theater learning that music isn’t an isolated subject but rather a real way explore math through song structure and lyrics. WVAC partners had an opportunity to learn this process directly from Mr. Simmons at the Inter-District Symposium in November.
