Welcome back to a new half term, we all hope that you and your wonderful families enjoyed a restful midterm break. I am delighted to see that attendance has been much better this week than in the first week of the first half term which is vitally important as we continue to work together in order to support our children’s perfor-mance in school.

consistently. It's difficult for the

teacher and the class to build

their skills and progress if a

large number of students are

Bullying

Thursday afternoon, I led an assembly for our Key Stage 2 children on the theme of bullying where I reinforced the mes-sage of the anti bullying alliance who are supporting an anti bullying campaign in the UK this week.

It’s worth checking out their website in order to reinforce the clear message that it is a time for change in order to re-

duce incidents of bullying. We all need to be reminded what bullying actually is as it is a term often misused to describe

isolated incidents. Bullying is when an individual or a group, repeatedly and intentionally cause hurt or harm to anoth-

er person or group of people. We do not tolerate bullying at this school however we must understand that there is

always a back story behind why children or adults behave in this way. Our message to the children today is that Change

Starts with Us and that we will overcome bullying here at West Bay if we; include everyone, show kindness, care & re-

spect, build friendships remembering to compliment and smile at one another.

lunch service for your children pro-

vided by Batteel Catering. This ser-

vice is offered in some of our other

Newton Schools and we felt that many

of you would like to accept this offer

providing your child with a healthy

lunch delivered each day. Batteel are committed to provid-

ing good quality, healthy options that we hope your chil-

dren will enjoy.

Each packed lunch will be 12QR/day and this service will begin on Sunday 10

th November. If you would like to

use this service, please tick the boxes for each day and return in an envelope together with the correct amount of money (cash only). Please write your child’s full name and class together with Batteel Food by Thursday 7

th Novem-

ber. Food will be delivered to your child ’s class before their first break from Sunday 10

th November.
