HEAD LICE We have had a case of head lice at the school. Please keep a look out for these little critters and treat accordingly. We will be having a whole school head lice check sometime next week. Thank you. Treating head lice

Concentrate on the head - there is no evidence that you need to clean the house or classroom.

No treatment kills all of the eggs so treatment must involve two applications seven days apart.

If you are using lotions, apply the product to dry hair.

There is no need to treat the whole family, unless they also have head lice.

Only the pillowcase requires specific laundering; either wash it in hot water (at least 60 degrees centigrade) or dry it using a clothes dryer on the hot or warm setting.

There is no product available that prevents head lice. Using the conditioner and comb method once a week will help you detect any head lice early and minimise the problem. Tying back long hair can help prevent the spread of head lice. Combs with long, rounded stainless steel teeth positioned very close together have been shown to be the most effective, however, any head lice comb can be use.

    ZOOPER DOOPER TUESDAYS

The grade 5/6 students will be selling Zooper Doopers on Tuesdays for $1 to raise money for their 5/6 Camp. Students can purchase them from the Canteen at lunchtime. SWIMMING The weather is heating up so please make sure your children are wearing sunscreen. Also please ensure all swimwear is labelled. Remember that parents / carers are not permitted to watch their children during swimming classes. There will be a designated time later in the term for parents to come and see their child’s progress. Thank you. VOLUNTEERS MORNING TEA We will be holding a special morning tea to say thank you to all our fabulous volunteers that help our school and student throughout the year. It will be in the staffroom on Tuesday 17th December from 11—11.30am. So if you have helped in the classroom or canteen, been part of the Parents & Friends or helped with our working bees; we would love to see you there.

  • JUNIOR SCHOOL ATHLETICS DAY

Under trying conditions the preps, grade 1 & 2 students

did an amazing job completing all their activities. Thank you to all the parents who came to support their

    children.

HOLIDAY CARD EXCHANGE PROJECT Grade 2M and 2H are participating in the Holiday Card Exchange Project. It is an international project. Children around the world explain their holiday traditions by sending cards to their partner schools. We will be able to understand more about other countries' culture and traditions. We will be investigating maps and the globe and exploring geography. The countries we have been matched with are: Taipei, Taiwan, Russia, Belarus, Slovenia, Poland and India.

We will receive an envelope with cards from a number of different countries and we will be making an

exhibition to show our school community. In this project we will learn about holiday traditions in other countries. At the end of the

project, everyone will go home with a collection of hand-made cards from children around the world.
