We have a vision of the YMCA as
A place… A journey… A voice…
PLACE
The YMCA…Is in new and surprising placesFeels welcoming, safe and full of lifeIs where I feel accepted, even though we are all differentOpens my eyes to different people around meEncourages me to express myself and get involvedIs where I meet people from churches who feel at home tooFeels like a place of faith.
VOICE The YMCA…Gives me confidence and skills to speak up for myself and my friendsGives me access to people who make decisionsIs outspoken in favour of young peopleSpeaks up for justice and positive values Is listened to by leaders in my communityExplains itself clearly
JOURNEY The YMCA…Helped me to start againRaised my hopes for the futureHelped me to make choices about the direction to takeTravelled alongside me, at my own paceHelped me to see there was so much more to life – body, mind and spiritIs where I found the people who helped me were on a journey too.I discovered that God was with me.
So why do we remain a Christian organisation in
such a diverse world?
