on the skills that were taught during that particular grading period.
• Kindergarten report card grades include S, P, and N:– S Demonstrates a satisfactory level of proficiency for all
subskills taught in that standard for the nine week period.– P Student exhibits partial proficiency in the standard. Student
meets some, but not all, benchmarks for the nine week period. – N Student does not demonstrate proficiency with majority of
subskills taught in that standard for the nine week period.
Global ScholarReading Foundations assessment
• Computer-based, adaptive assessment– As questions are answered correctly, more challenging content
is presented. As questions are answered wrong, less challenging content is presented.
• This is a formative assessment – not a grade
• Used for instructional purposes – Teachers know which students have mastered which standards
• Individual learning paths can be generated on Compass Learning/Odyssey– This allows students to work at their own ability level, whether
they need remediation or enrichment
