(Always the 2nd Friday of every month)

Enjoy a special evening with your spouse as we experience a beautiful marriage enrichment series called “Beloved.”

Beloved explores the true meaning of the Sacrament of Marriage. At Date Night, you’ll discover the deepest spiritual, emotional, and practical realities of what your marriage can and should be. Through an exploration of Scripture, Tradition, and Church teaching, God’s plan for your marriage will come alive. You’ll see firsthand the wonder, mystery, and joy behind that first “I do”—whether you said it last year or many years ago.

Free childcare is provided…. how wonderful is that?! Call Jimmy and Joanna Mancini for more information at 512-569-6963. Hope to see you on Nov 11…. It’s a date!

NOT ENOUGHIt is not enough for me to love God if my neighbor does not love God.

—St. Vincent de Paul

NO BASTANo basta que yo ame a Dios si mi prójimo no ama a Dios.

—San Vicente de Paúl

Jubilee Year of MercyNovember 6, 2016Thirty-second Sunday in Ordinary TimeJubilee for Prisoners

One of the most moving images of Pope Francis’ ministry comes from Holy Thursday. Slowly, deliberately, Francis kneels down before prisoners—men, women, young, old, Christian, Muslim—and washes their feet, recalling Jesus admonition to Peter: “If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one an-other’s feet” (John 13:14). On today’s Jubilee for Prisoners, whose rights the Church bids us advocate, Jesus declares in the Gospel,

“to [God] all are alive” (Luke 20:38). Have we “imprisoned” anyone figuratively, but no less painfully, passing harsh judg-ment, then refusing our respect, acceptance, even affection? This month of All Saints and All Souls bids us reflect on our eternal destiny and prepare for it. Respect for ourselves and oth-ers, souls and bodies, practical care for neighbors and strangers: such witness affirms that we view our present in light of our future, and believe that, even now, in our midst, stands the Lord of life, the living Jesus.

YOUTH MINISTRY

CHURCH PAVERSThe Altar Society is once again presenting to our parishio-ners the availability to purchase engraved pavers that connect the Church to the Education Building, Deane Hall and the PAC (the church business hub). These are a wonderful way for remembering people. One of our donors now orders one in remembrance of a dear friend’s passing. There had been an absence of ordering these because of the change in the manufacturer. They are once again up and running and we pay the same price as we had originally negotiated. The entire proceeds will go directly to our building fund. We order the pavers when we have 50 paid requests. These forms are in the back of the Church and you can fill out one and drop it off with your check at the Church or office. If you have any questions you can call a member of the Altar Society but we believe all the information is in the order form. Thank you.

¡Gracias!

November 5 & 6, 2016 / 5 & 6 de noviembre, 2016Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear parishioners,Today we ask for a financial commitment from all the

Catholic Faithful for the Catholic Services Appeal. The funds collected from this appeal support the ministry of our Bishop, Joe Vasquez.

The major part is allocated to the education of students for the priesthood to serve in the parishes of our diocese and the continuing formation of priests as well as the long-term care of retired priests. The funds are then distributed among the various areas of ministry: education, service and prayer.

The ministry of our Bishop is divided into the various offices, which provide service to the Catholic Faithful upholds all that we do. For example, the formation of our religious education teachers, youth and campus ministry programs, consultation in matters of canon law are a few of the ways in which the finances from this appeal help us in many ways and throughout the year.

Please consider participating so that our parish family will continue to prosper.

Father David.

Padre David.

Come join us for the annual celebration in honor of Our lady Guadalupe this December 12, 2016.

With great joy, representatives from different ministries gather together on October 12, 2016 to organize this celebration. On behalf of this community of faith I want to invite all of you to pray for the success of this celebration. May Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, intercede for us with her Divine Son.

Fr. Amado

P. Amado

Santa Cruz Church, Buda, Texas Trigésimo Segundo Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

Please STAY registered in the Parish!

With over 2,100 households in the parish it is a big task to keep up with everyone! However, we try to update our census each year.

The following parishioners will be AUTOMATICALLY re-registered for 2017:

üThose who use their envelopes for CASH donationsüThose who use a CHECK to give their donationüThose who use the electronic (automatic withdrawal)

giving

There are currently 234 families who do not do any of the above. Therefore, it is difficult to know if these families are still committed to the parish.

Between now and January 1, 2017, I ask these families [who wish to remain members in 2017] to return at least ONE EMPTY ENVELOPE in the collection.

Two priests have the responsibility of caring for over 7,600 individuals. All we are asking is (not money) but the “show of commitment” of one empty envelope before the end of the year.

Unfortunately, those who do not respond in this minimal way will be deleted from the list of active parishioners in 2017.

News from the Principal’s DeskThe start of November began with a big celebration at our parish

school. Students and teachers dressed up as saints for All Saints’ Day. After Mass, we had a parade of saints out of church, around the parking lot, to the rear of the San Juan Chapel. All the students and Fr. David posed for our traditional All Saints’ Day photo. Then, the students and teachers went back to their classes to enjoy the saints’ project presenta-tions. The fifth graders held a Living History Saint Museum under the church portico. All the students were able to visit each saint to listen to the story of their lives. The day’s festivities were capped off by the All Saints’ Festival which was held in Deane Hall. Deane Hall had been transformed into Heaven for the day by an army of parent volunteers. The classes all visited Heaven to enjoy many different activities and games. At the end of the day, Fr. David recited the Litany of Saints and then gave out best costume awards. All in all, it was a terrific day enjoyed by all!

Have a blessed summer!Mrs. Flanagan

SANTA CRUZ CATHOLIC SCHOOL/ESCUELA CATOLICA

Flanagan

These shoes will then be shipped to persons in impoverished areas of the world. In return, the School will receive funds from the distribu-tion agency, which will be used to assist in ongoing operation. This Service Project will continue until Dec. 16.
