Classroom Participation

• I want to hear what you have to say.

• Make all questions and comments relevant to the current discussion.

Moving Around the Room• You must ask permission to keep this a

stress-free environment.

• Do not ask during a classroom discussion unless it is an emergency. You may not go to the bathroom unless you have a doctor’s note—DON’T ASK.

• If you need to sharpen your pencil, simply hold it up and wait for me to nod so you can get up and sharpen it.

Page 45: Welcome to Mrs. Ashcraft's Classroom correlated to The First Days of School with page numbers Procedures and Guidelines

Classwork and Getting Help• If you need help and I am teaching or talking, write

down your question and wait until I am finished. Then, raise your hand and quietly wait. CONTINUE WORKING on other parts of the assignment.

• If you are working in a group or independently, utilize the “ask three, then me” rule. Ask three classmates around your area, then me.

• Do your own work. Copying another’s work is not considered “getting help from a classmate,” It is considered copying another’s work. If you give your work to another to be copied, I will deduct points from your work and contact your guardians. This is not an acceptable practice, as it will not help you learn to material.
