OR Cardinal Room if parent transported (please do not arrive earlier as there is no adult supervision until this time)
Students may go to the gym to visit with friends; do not stop at locker
They may go to the cafeteria to eat breakfast at 7:25 AM. Students are tardy to school after 7:52 AM. If you are assigned NB at LCMS, it begins at 7:52 AM. Students
must provide their own TRANSPORTATION. 7:20-7:47 students may ONLY be in the cafeteria or gym (or with a
TEACHER). This will be monitored and consequences if you don’t follow our procedures.
If you have a D or F in any class, you will be in AM STUDY HALL and LUNCH STUDY HALL
STUDENTS MUST BE SUPERVISED BY A CERTIFIED TEACHER AT ALL TIMES THEY ARE IN THIS BUILDING !!!

Reminders of morning & breakfast procedures: Parent drop offs and pick ups are at the Cardinal Room. Students may not go to their lockers when they arrive at school. They go straight to the gym. Students may go to morning study hall. ALL students must go to bfast and TAKE a tray with 3 items. If you don’t want to eat, get cereal and leave on
share table. Students must wait in the gym until the teacher escorting you to breakfast arrives. This is usually Mrs. Walker or
her substitute. Backpacks and belongings shall be left outside your first period classroom. You may NOT get in your locker. You may NOT go the restroom on the way to breakfast. You may leave the cafeteria, only when dismissed by the teacher on duty. Students may not linger in the gym or RR after breakfast is called; they are to go directly to breakfast. You may use the restroom and visit your locker after 7:47; must have permission before that. Students in the gym may only go one-at-a-time to the restroom when given permission by the teacher on duty.
They must remain seated if in the bleachers. They must have permission to leave the gym for any reason Students playing basketball must ALLOW ANYONE wishing to play to play. Only 6 balls may be out. No
shots on or beyond the 3-point line. No rough housing. If these rules are not followed, this privilege will be revoked.

Dismissal Procedures
There will be two dismissal tones this year 2:50 – First bus ONLY 2:55 – Second bus, Parent Pick Ups, O-Zone, Athletes,
Detention, etc. Those exiting on wrong tone will be strictly disciplined – staff is
monitoring!!! Adult supervision ends at 3:05 pm. Walkers, bikers, parent pick-ups, non-bus-transported
students must leave immediately. Transportation arrangements must be made prior to the end of school.
If you are assigned NB, you must leave LCMS at 2:55 PM or disciplinary consequences will result.

School Fees
$ 30 SBDM has policy about paying fees
and walking at graduation. If you have a fee waiver, you are
exempt from school fees. However, if you damage something, you must pay to replace it.
Lockers You will be issued a locker number and combination. Inform us
immediately if anything is wrong with your locker (sticking, will not lock, etc.)
Return signed locker form for combination. YOU are responsible for EVERYTHING found in your locker. Do NOT
share lockers with anyone. Do NOT give your combination to anyone!!! Do not disable your lock – prevent theft and vandalism.
Do not bring valuables to school (money, cell phones, electronics, etc.). Be careful with your items. WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO RECOVER
STOLEN ITEMS!!! Report locker problems to Mrs. Gail Anderson. Careful with decoration – only non-sticking, magnetic on INSIDE NOTHING ON OUTSIDE OF LOCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not spray perfume.
Medication Must be sent to school by parent in original container
and a form must be on file that we can dispense. YOU MUST LIST OTC meds that we may give.
This applies to over-the-counter (OTC) medication as well as prescription medication
Must be picked up by parent on last day of school or we will dispose of it
It is the student’s responsibility to report to the office to take the medication
No one can take any type of medication unless it is dispensed through the front office

score zeroes. Those scoring proficient or distinguished will get
incentives (free athletic passes, front of lunch line, district banquet, name/picture on wall, etc.)
Those giving great effort will get a treat. Regularly you need: Plenty of rest, liquids (especially
water), healthy diet, etc.
Parent-Teacher-Student Organization PTSO sign up. My number one goal (1,200 hours) this year is to
get more parent involvement at LCMS (lunch & breakfast monitors, teacher helpers, classroom speakers, club sponsors, go-fors, etc.)
Grant and Parent Involvement Liaison to coordinate volunteer program
Fundraisers for student incentives due to good grades, attendance, behavior, etc.

If you fail classes, you may repeat a grade. You will be put in AM and Lunch Study Hall, be pulled from electives to re-do work, etc.
If you are having trouble, ALL teachers stay after school or come early for tutoring. Parents need to call and talk with the teacher or counselor.

Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) The new web-enabled Individual Learning Plan
(ILP) helps secondary students (grades 6-12) better focus their coursework on individual goals as they prepare for postsecondary studies and careers.
The ILP helps parents and teachers provide every student with an informed plan for transitioning to the next level of learning and being ready to perform at a high level in a chosen career field.
The ILP gives new relevance to what students learn in the classroom and provides more connectedness to the world that awaits them.
ILP Tentative Schedule Students will work to complete online ILP
components/activities in Careers or Consumerism. Student training first week during SS. Parent training. State Dept. of Education mandates an end of year
Annual Review by Student, Teacher, and Parent. Parents will be informed of deadlines via email,
print material sent home, and computer availability will be provided.
ALL KENTUCKY STUDENTS MUST HAVE 100% COMPLETION and parent review to graduate from HS.
Steps To Improving Your Academic Performance
Monitor your attendance to ensure you attend school every day
Check your assignment book every night and think about academic progress; Ensure you have a quiet place to study and time to complete homework
Check to see that homework has been completed; Provide logical consequences when you do not complete assignments
Encourage yourself to attend AM or PM tutoring for additional help
Study before tests and quizzes; Provide incentives to yourself when you complete assignments and demonstrate achievement

Lunch Detention Please remember that absence notes are to be left in the office
BEFORE first period begins on your first day back from the absence. You only have 3 days to turn these in.
Bus notes are also due before school starts. You must turn these in to the office. Bus notes turned in after 1:16 will NOT be approved. We have to have time to check these and sign, copy, etc. You are to pick up your bus note between classes. Please do not wait until the bus bell.
Students in lunch detention report to the front of the line, request a disposable tray, and then go to Mr. Thompson’s room.
Help Needed STAR testing: Please take your time and do your best
on these tests as they determine if you’ll be in enrichment, RtI, advanced courses, etc. Plus, they help us design your learning so you can become college and career ready. Remember that you have as long as you wish on these tests.
Please don’t forget to check in lost and found for articles you may have misplaced.
Student Government elections are Sept 15. If you’re interested in being a school leader, please attend the student government meeting on club day
