Welcome to Freedom Art Studio! I’m Marguerite. I’m just starting out my business. Would you help me figure out my supply needs? I’ll give you hints and tips along the way to
make sure you set up your problem correctly. And remember, keep painting!
Paint SuppliesIn my art class, I have forty paint brushes. I have twelve students signed up for the water color class. If each student needs more than
one paintbrush, how many can I give each student?
Round your answer down!
My art studio has tables that can seat a minimum of two people. I need to figure out
how many students I can take for my next class. If I had:
Three 2 people tables, one 4 people table, and two 6 people tables, how many people can I
take? Solve as PEMDAS!
On the third day of setting up for my oil paint class, I must by paint. If each table needs
two gallons of paint, how many gallons do I need?
Draw two paint brushes. (to find how many tables I have,
look at problem two!)
On the third day of setting up, I buy chairs. If I have twenty-two students, four cancel, eight more join, and one
cancels, how many chairs will I need?
Keep going! On the first day of class, I used up 1 ¾ gallons of
paint. How many gallons of paint do I have left? Thanks for
helping me so far. You’re doing great! My art class is a success
as far as I can tell!
On the art class application for the oil pastel class, you ask if
they’ve been to any art classes before. The results
were this: 10 times, 8 times, 7 times, 11 times, and 13 times.
What is the mean?
On the fourth day of art class, I draw a line that is 11 inches
long. What is the center length if I am drawing perspective and
have to multiply it by four? Formula: 11/2 times 4.
On the fifth day, you provide benches outside. If you have
one bench that seats two people, and two benches that seat four people, how many
more seats do you need? Solve as PEMDAS for first step
On the very last day, ½ of the students bring you
cards. Three people bring you chocolate. How many people
brought you something else?
Now draw your own art studio and
write your own problem!
