Reading Goals

Basis for Reading Goals - The realization that reading is not in isolation but in fact connected to all the content areas. - The truth that distinguished reading goes beyond being able to read fluently and comprehend a text on the “surface level.”

Reading Goals for Students - To successfully engage with a variety of complex texts. - To critically read and respond to complex texts. - To closely read complex texts in order to obtain more meaning.
