• Consumer Economics:• Step #1: Read and solve the problem located on your desk

(SHOW WORK)• Step #2: Locate your answer choice on the orange MATHO Board• Step #3: Cover your answer with an X on the MATHO Board

(Some students may have the same problem)• Problem:• If pencils cost 20 cents each and pens cost 30 cents each, find the

cost of the following item located on your desk: (Students will be given an individual problem)

• Students will complete a personal assessment of results and will receive an additional Try Again Homework Assignment if incorrect and an invitation to the Week #1 Tutorial session for further reinforcement.

Math III Support Focus– Step #1: Determine if the following problems are

fully simplified and/or simplified correctly– Step #2: If the problem is correct write the step by

step process in words used to solve the problem– Step #3: If the problem is incorrect or not fully

simplified, identify the error in words and solve correctly

• Students will complete a personal assessment of results and will receive an additional Try Again Homework Assignment if incorrect and an invitation to the Week #1 Tutorial session for further reinforcement.

Scholars Respect Classmates, Self, and Working Environment

– Listen to the teacher– Raise your hand to speak and wait to be

called on– Do not interrupt classmates or the teacher– Learn and let others learn– No use of inappropriate language or

gestures; No public display of affection– Keep your hands, feet and all objects to

yourself– Respect the classroom and the hallways by

Scholars Report Promptly to Class

– Students are expected to be present and on time everyday. When tardy bell rings, you should be in your seat, materials ready and working on the Focus. Excuse letter from parents or guardian is required for day/s of being absent and must be submitted no later than 2 days. Excessive tardiness/absences will be referred to the administrators and social worker.

– Hall passes are issued to students only when necessary or during emergency cases. You cannot leave the first and last 20 minutes of class. In using the restroom, students are expected to return in class within 3 minutes; otherwise, it will be considered as class cutting.

– THE TEACHER DISMISSES YOU NOT THE BELL

2:• Mathography Requirements:

Due Date: August 12th• A “Mathography” is an autobiography of your experiences and

accomplishments in the subject of Math. Answer the following question in a one paragraph “Mathography” (must contain at least four complete sentence):

• Question: • Write down some of the early math accomplishments that you remember from

when you were younger. For instance, when and how did you learn to count? How old were you when you could first count to one hundred? Who taught you? How did they teach you? Did you “show off” this new talent to others?– Once you have completed the “Mathography” Assignment, select one

student’s Mathography from your group to provide “warm” and “cool” feedback.**Warm Feedback- positive and encouraging comments**Cool Feedback- suggestions for enhancement*Point Value:Mathography- 2 pointsFeedback – 2 points*Total – 4 points
