Take Home Binder*Goes home daily*Homework/notes from home should go in the Return pocket of the Take home binder. Notes/bulletins from the school will be found in the Keep pocket.*Any communication about your student’s day will be recorded in the agenda planners, as well as homework assignments. PLEASE CHECK THEIR AGENDAS DAILY!! It is the student’s responsibility to bring all notes/correspondence to their teacher. *The student handbook is located in the front of agenda.

Grading
*1-2 grades will be taken per week in each subject area.*Grades are available for online parent viewing through Parent Portal.*Grades are weighted equally excluding word study grades, which count as 3% of the LA grade.*Major evaluations may be retested if a failing grade was given on the 1st administration. (highest grade after a retake will be 70)*Check Thursday Folder for graded papers.

Report Cards
*Nine week grading periods.*Report Cards will go home on: 10/19, 12/21, 3/22, 5/24*Please sign the report card cover and return it to school with your child.*You may keep the actual paper report card.*Progress reports sent home with each student.*Conference Day is Tuesday, October 9th.
Monitor
*Students will be given reasonable deadlines for all assignments. *If a deadline is not met after reasonable time given, the child will spend half of their recess time in the monitor room in order to complete their work.*Any ongoing incomplete work will require time in the monitor room. *Students will go to the monitor room for any missing homework assignments.

Word Study*Students will be working on a spelling pattern in a specific spelling stage. The goal is for the student to progress through Words Their Way spelling stages. This will help them to transfer that spelling knowledge into their writing.
*During the week, students will work on their word study stage during station time. This work will be a weekly grade that will only count 3% of the Total Language Arts Grade.
*Students will be informally assessed during the week.
Homework*Mondays (Reading log, due Friday) 100 minutes recorded in agendas
*Tuesday - Math Homework (due Wed.)
*Wednesday - Reading Comprehension Homework (due Thurs.)
*Thursday - Math Homework (due Fri.)
*Homework is not graded but checked in class.
*Students are RESPONSIBLE for bringing home and returning all of their homework.
