A-State participates in the Advanced Placement (AP) Program, which allows students to earn college credit while they are still in high school. Students who wish to obtain AP credit must request the College Board forward their test scores to Arkansas State University after they have been admitted. Credit in selected courses will be awarded, provided the student makes a satisfactory score on the exam and meets other requirements of the department offering the course. Scores may be sent to:

Office of Admissions,Records & RegistrationP.O. Box 1570State University, AR 72467AState.edu/Registrar | 870.972.2031

Students may earn up to 30 semester hours of university credit through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). A-State offers CLEP testing in two general examinations and 12 subject matter exams. The exams are administered through the A-State Testing Center. Questions regarding test dates, administration of exams and a list of subject areas may be obtained by calling the A-State Testing Center.

A-State Testing CenterP.O. Box 1210State University, AR 72467AState.edu/TestingCenter | 870.972.2038

Transfer students should have official transcripts sent to the Office of Admissions, Records & Registration in order to complete the transfer process. Once your transcript has been received, a course evaluation will be completed by our personnel. This evaluation will include a listing of all general education courses and credits that are transferrable, as well as the equivalent value to the A-State course. Once you have been admitted to Arkansas State University, you will be able to view the accepted transfer work on your A-State transcript through our Self Service.

resiDence life

Welcome to your new comfort zone! It’s a big leap to college, but you can look forward to

a happy landing in one of our modern residence halls. Residence halls are among the best places to meet friends,

find study partners and be close to all the activities and resources on campus. And all of our freshman residence options are suite-style, which means you’ll never have to

wait around in your flip-flops for an empty shower. It’s more than housing…it’s home!

Welcome home! You’ll take pride in your A-State family as you become part of the biggest pep rally of the

year at Order of the Pack. Then take your place in The Pines for pre-game

tailgating. The Naked Guys will inspire you to yell a little louder, get a little

crazier and enjoy college sports the way they were meant to be enjoyed.

has the best nursingprogram in the state.”

Picture yourself sitting in a classroom and learning about the effects of advertising on the

Swedish culture from a student who is from Stockholm. Imagine talking about German

politics with a classmate from Berlin while you are walking across campus. Envision sitting in

our Acansa Dining Hall and hearing accents from around the world – literally.

A-State offers students certain intangibles you can’t put a price on.

Living and learning alongside students from all over the globe is one of the

most invaluable of those intangibles.

At any given time, we have students attending A-State who are from almost every state and more than 60 countries. They’ve graduated from every

type of school – private, public, college prep. They’ve been science fair winners, high school newspaper editors, athletes, actors, musicians,

class clowns, artists, volunteers, dreamers and class officers. At A-State, they come together to create a vibrant, ever-changing, diverse community where lively conversations lead to enduring friendships.

These conversations and friendships create a much richer student experience. And the global perspective A-State students receive is priceless.
