instruction has begun, I would like to keep the emphasis on active learning. Therefore, restroom needs will be obligatory to be taken care of during the 5-minute passing break.

o Test 1-1 RETAKES FOR GT will be held Tuesday, September 24th from 4-5 pm after school. If your mustang needs or wants to pull up their grade, please allow them to come. They must get a pass from me during class to attend that afternoon.

o PROGRESSIVE TESTING - This is your child’s opportunity to improve their test grade. When we administer the next test, a percentage of that test will cover the previously taught material and the rest will be new information. If the result from the previously taught material is higher than the previous test, it will replace that score.

o Tutorials for Washington are Tuesdays from 4-5 pm. At this time transportation is not provided by the school.

o Tutorials for Coach Crowder and Ford are Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:15-8:45

o Students must always wear their student IDs at school.o Lake Olympia is collecting Box Tops.  Please check food items (i.e. Hamburger Helper,

cereal) and school supplies, cut them out, then bring them in.  They are worth two (2) points per box top.

o Progress Report #1 ended Friday, September 20th. Make sure to check with your child to ensure all assignments are turned in.

o Please help us celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month which began September 15th with this Hispanic Mathematician.

o Víctor Neumann-Lara - Mexican mathematician, pioneer in the field of graph theory in Mexico. His work also covers general topology, game theory and combinatorics.

Parent ResourceParents if you have an Excellent resource please share it with me and I will add it to the Parent Agenda.  I need the website address to share with other parents.  Thanks in advance.

Math Goodies http://mathgoodies.com/Free math help portal featuring interactive lessons, worksheets, and homework help. They also have CDs for sale so be careful not to click on these links. The free lessons, worksheets and homework are a great resource.

Study Tip

Ask your mustang how they can apply what they are learning in the classroom to their experience in the real world. For instance, how would they apply and use order of operations at the grocery store.

Online Technology at the OEdmodo is the new tool at Lake O to communicate with your child about what is going on in the classroom. I will post the weekly agenda on this site as a third option to have it in addition to the school website and email through Skyward. It is my desire to meet virtually once a week to give your mustang a chance to ask questions about the homework or to clear up ideas from the lesson.

Each class has two codes – individual and group, so please have your child join both.

Period Class codes1st, 5th, and 6th xgzsq8

Mr. Crowder’s Class Each class has a code–

Period Group codes1st 44u9fh2nd 376hev3rd z622f75th m978en6th fprfj6

7th zc67nwOnce your child has logged in, there is a parent code on the right side for parental access to the site. Use that code to create your own user name and password to keep track of your child’s agenda and assignments in my class and possibly all of his/her classes.
