Session at a Glance

Saul's ConversionFocus Passage: Acts 8:1-3; 9:1-31

Key Bible Verse: 1 Peter 3:15

Life ApplicationI can tell people what God has done for me.

Level of Biblical Learning (Holy Spirit)The Holy Spirit helps people understand God's plan of salvation.

What basis do you use to form an opinion of someone? Do you agree with the statement "reputations are based solely on opinion of an individual's character"? Why? In what ways has your reputation helped you? Has it ever hurt you? Consider Saul's reputation.•Read Acts 8:1-3 and 9:1-2. The news of Stephen's

death spread to the Christians in Judea and Samaria. Based on these verses how would you describe Saul's reputation?

•Read Acts 9:3-19. Notice the dramatic way in which Jesus got Saul's attention. Notice Saul's response in verse 5. With what tone of voice do you hear Jesus speaking? Place yourself in Ananias' shoes. What would you do? What type of faith do you think Ananias had? How many times do we hear God speak to us and not act? How much more could we accomplish if we would put feet to our faith and obey what we are told to do?

•Read Acts 9:20-31. Saul's ministry began, but he still had to convince the Christians he spent years persecuting. However, Saul rebuilt his reputation and Scripture states that the church was strengthened. What needs to change in your life for you to be effective in reaching your peers?

•Compare and contrast your life with Saul. In what ways has God worked in your life? Do you have the faith of Saul to tell people what God has done for you? Pray for yourself. Ask God to help you communicate how He is working in your life with the children you teach. Seek to make your faith connect with the children as they see God at work in you.
