Week 4 TERM 1

What are we learning this week?

LITERACY FOCUS:

During A sentence a Day we are

focusing on nouns. Our writing

genre is persuasive texts. Our

question this week will be “Write a

letter to Mrs Roberts convincing

her to make recess longer”.

NUMERACY FOCUS:

Measurement and Geometry,

with a focus on measurement.

Number and place value, with a

focus on Money. Maths Masters is

also running weekly.

TOPIC FOCUS: Pakenopoly The

Grade 4 business will open this

week.

Students have started their own

business this week and drawn

up business models. They have

had some time to create items

for purchase at our first Grade 4

market day which will be on

Wednesday 25th February.

Students have also been trying

to earn money which they will

be able to spend on our whole

school market Fun Night on

Thursday 19th of March.

Guess the Baby: Thank you to all those stu-

dents that have brought in

their baby photos.

If you have not yet brought in

your baby picture could you

please bring it in this week.

We will photo copy all pictures

and return the originals.

Specialist News PHYSICAL EDUCATION: Cross Country will be happening in Week 6- keep running at

school and at home to get your best results!

ICT: Remember to check out the school’s new website. Students will have the opportunity

to explore it in their ICT lessons. All students from F-3 have been enjoying using the

school’s BRAND NEW desktop computers.

Grade 4 students have loved using the school’s new class set of iPad mini’s to complete

their learning!

PERFORMING ARTS: All students in Grades 2, 3 and 4 will be involved in this terms pro-

duction of Nathan’s Nightmare! Information and tickets will be distributed shortly.
