Pakenopoly What is it?
This term our whole school top-
ic is Pakenopoly. Students have
to form their own business, de-
cide on what their business is
going to sell and how they will
make a profit.
What to bring
Students are only allowed to
bring in old or recycled items.
For example students can bring
in old T-shirts, re-used beads,
cardboard from cereal boxes, or
recycled paper. They cannot
bring in new things nor can
they purchase items for their
business.
Spelling
We have just finished conduct-
ing our Single Word Spelling
Tests. Students will be
grouped and have their
spelling words sent out soon
based upon the results of
these tests. Please practice
with your child regularly to en-
sure steady growth in their
spelling abilities.
Guess the Baby: This term we would like to run a
’guess that baby’ competition. We
are asking all students in Grade 4
to bring in a picture of themselves
when they were a baby or a tod-
dler. We will then have a competi-
tion to see if anyone is able to cor-
rectly match the toddlers to the
students.
We are asking all students to
please bring in a picture of them-
selves for this event. We will pho-
to copy all pictures and return the
originals.
Fruit
Please remember to pack
some fresh fruit for your child
as we have fruit time every
day.
Fruit needs to be nude fruit
and cannot be fruit substi-
tutes such as roll ups or fruit
jelly. No nuts please as we
have students with severe nut
allergies in our grade.
