The main PE lesson this week is to take part in Sports Hall Athletics at home.
See separate document for the home vertical jump scale and the document to record your
scores.
Parents it is wise to read all of this information before the lesson. Obviously, you don’t have
to submit your results, however I know how any competitive families we have and thought
you would like the opportunity. How to do this is written on the documents and also the you
tube page that it refers to.
Let the games begin.

A viewfinder
Drawing paper
Drawing materials eg pencil, crayons, felt tips, black pen
And/or painting materials
And/or modelling material eg Plasticine, Playdoh, Fimo etc
Optional: Access to a camera, magnifying glass.
Making a viewfinder:
Use a piece of plain card – recycled cereal box or packaging
Place a smaller square object in the middle of the card.
Draw around the smaller square.
Cut out the small square leaving at least 2cms at the edge so you can hold the card!
Challenge Possibilities:
Challenge 1: Draw the parts and then the single flower, plant or insect.
Challenge 2: Draw a group of the same flower, plant or insect in different positions or in a pot, jug etc.
Challenge 3: Draw 2 or more different types of flowers as above.
Challenge 4: Create a still life picture using ideas from Tracy Elphick.
Challenge 5: Recreate the flower, paint or insect in modelling materials.
Challenge 6: Explore recreating your drawing using Zentangles
Flowers
With your parents’ permission pick a flower eg daffodil, muscari, daisy, primrose, tulips etc.
Use the viewfinder to look at the different parts or sections of the flower.
Take the flower apart carefully and lay out all the parts of the flower.
Draw the parts of the flower using the viewfinder.
Draw the flower in its natural setting or in a container eg jug, bottle, vase.
Add your own background – natural or fantasy.
Plants
Use the viewfinder to look at parts of the plant.
Draw parts of the plant in close-up detail.
You could use crayons, paint or plasticine to recreate the plant.
Think about plants with strong outline shapes eg palm, cactus etc.
Insects
You could take a close up photograph of the insect so it can be released quickly back to its natural habitat!
If you are not taking a photo, you could make a mini viewfinder to look at the different parts!
For more ideas on zentangles, with your parents’ supervision, you could look at this school website:

Remember to think carefully about what people in the future might be interested in knowing
about.
