This is an AMAZING opportunity for students to build their leadership skills and network with students from across Alberta. This year’s conference is being hosted at Lacombe Composite High School in Lacombe, Alberta and the theme of the conference is “Connected Leaders”. It will be held from May 28-30, 2017. AASCA hosts yearly conferences for students who are interested in leadership. The conferences are intended to motivate, build skills and help students to network. There will be students from all across Alberta attending. This year’s conference will include a variety of inspirational, educational, and motivational speakers and presentations. To obtain more information and follow the planning process for the conference, please look at their website: http://connectedleaders.weebly.com. For more information about this opportunity, please contact Mrs. Kouperman at [email protected] ASAP. Interact Club: The Interact club’s Spring Fair will take place at lunch from April 18th- April 27th. There will be games, henna tattoos, and even the opportunity to throw a pie at a teachers face! All proceeds will be donated to Shelterbox, which is an international organization that provides emergency shelter to those in need. 30-Hour Fast from April 27th 8:00AM (Thursday) to April 28th 2:00PM (Friday): (Lights Snacks will be provided on Friday at 2 PM in Rm. 312 to ‘break’ the FAST) This event is going to be a non-religiously focused, student-driven activity that will benefit the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank. It is an event that aims to raise awareness about food shortages and malnutrition in the world and in our very own community. Rather than the traditional money donations, participating students will be donating non-perishable food items . We are also looking for food donations from the rest of the student body. Donation boxes will be in the main foyer and by Rm. 312. Please help us spread the news about this worthwhile cause to fight hunger together!
