Photo: Hannah Sparks Festival-goer returns to face Yass Court A YOUNG woman travelled from South Australia to Yass last week, to face drug charg- es related to the Dragon Dreaming Festival. Haneen Faris, a 22-year- old student from Adelaide, was caught driving with MD- MA in her system when leav- ing the Wee Jasper festival in November last year. She pleaded guilty when she appeared in Yass Local Court on July 12. Faris was stopped for a random drug test as police were conducting traffic duties at the end of Dragon Dreaming on November 6, in police facts tendered in court. e oral fluid test found MDMA in her system. "I didn't take any drugs, sir," Faris told a police of- ficer, but the test was con- firmed positive. Faris represented herself in court. "I regret what I've done because I've realised the pos- sible impact it could have on my life not having a licence ... and the community," Faris told the court. "I work and I study. Driving to school saves a lot of time and I put that into studying." But Magistrate Douglass was eager for Faris to under- stand the risks involved with taking MDMA. "Who made this one? Was it [an outlaw motorcycle club]? Did you look at the list of ingredients in it?" he asked. "How can someone with your education not look in- to it? "e [people] making it aren't concerned about your welfare, they're con- cerned about making maxi- mum profit." Magistrate Douglass placed Faris on an 18-month Conditional Release Order. Festival-goer returns to face Yass CourtA YOUNG woman travelled from South Australia to Yass last week, to face drug charg-es related to the Dragon Dreaming Festival.

Haneen Faris, a 22-year-old student from Adelaide, was caught driving with MD-MA in her system when leav-ing the Wee Jasper festival in

November last year.She pleaded guilty when

she appeared in Yass Local Court on July 12.

Faris was stopped for a random drug test as police were conducting traffic duties at the end of Dragon Dreaming on November 6, in police facts tendered in court.

The oral fluid test found MDMA in her system.

"I didn't take any drugs, sir," Faris told a police of-ficer, but the test was con-firmed positive.

Faris represented herself in court.

"I regret what I've done because I've realised the pos-sible impact it could have on

my life not having a licence ... and the community," Faris told the court.
