Information gained over the Internet from many Web sites.
Tips for picking a good value NBN Internet plan: 1. Check ISP quality
If you use the internet occasionally, most NBN products will suffice. However if
you wish to stream high definition videos you will need to measure the video per-
formance from your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for good quality.
Have a look at Googles video quality report shows the average
YouTube video performance over a 24 hour period for different
providers in your area. https://www.google.com/get/
videoqualityreport/
Or
Netflix’s ISP Speed Index is based on each ISP’s average delivery
content https://ispspeedindex.netflix.com/country/australia/
2. Get enough data
In December 2015 the average usage over the NBN was 128GB. It will continue to
increase. Choose a plan with enough data to meet your needs.. How to do this,
Just monitor your data usage monthly through your ISP provider.
3. Compare plans and costs
Some general Rules:
Avoid offers that split data into peak and off peak. (generally not good val-
ue)
Big Setup charges against monthly fees. Shop around as some ISP’s have
no setup costs and low monthly fees.
Make sure you compare products that offer similar download speeds.
Use comparison websites to compare product like:
Canstar Blue http://www.canstarblue.com.au/phone-internet/

WhistleOut https://www.whistleout.com.au/Broadband/

4. Beware bundled extras
They may look good but you may end up paying for something you will not use.
Like: VoIP (voice over internet Protocol) and Entertainment packages
