• Early 90’s: Dr. Donald Norman created the term “User Experience” and recognized the importance of design
• Late 90’s – Present:Growing area becoming an specific Department on companies

What Is User Experience?
• User experience (UX) is how a person feels when interfacing with a system
• Study and evaluate how users feel about a system, looking at such
things as ease of use, perception of the value of the system, utility, efficiency in performing tasks and so forth.

What Is User Experience?
Focuses on having a deep understanding of users, what they need, what they value, their abilities, and also their limitations.
It also takes into account the business goals and objectives of the group managing the project.
UX best practices promote improving the quality of the user’s interaction with and perceptions of your product and any related services.

Usable: Site must be easy to use
Desirable: Image, identity, brand, and other design elements are used to evoke emotion and appreciation

Findable: Content needs to be navigable and locatable onsite and offsite
