What’s Been Happening? October Newsletter - 2015 - Autumn 1

Firstly, we would like to say a big ‘Thank You!’ for all of your support this half term.

As we continue our journey towards making our Academy the most fantastic place it can be, we are grateful for your feedback and are appreciative of the support you have given. This Autumn term has

been a great half term, and your children have been contributing in lots of wonderful ways.

Here are just a few of the things that they have been up to!

Year 4 become ‘Ancient Egyptian Scientists’.

This term, some of our Year 4 pupils started to investigate the Ancient Egyptian Mummification process.

As part of this, they enjoyed mummifying a tomato and learned about how the Ancient Egyptians lived.

Year 6 Practice Tests!

This half term, our Year 6 pupils have been working hard preparing for their End of Year tests. They have taken a

practice paper and will continue to prepare in the new Half Term.

Samworth Open Evening!

On the 29th September, our Academy hosted a fantastic Opening Evening, whereby our children became Private Investigators. With their help, Sleepy was found eating sweets at the shop near

Trenant Road! Thank you to Imogen Branston (Year 4Kipling) who helped us to find him!

Year 1!Well done to all of our Year 1 pupils. You have settled in to life as a Year 1 pupil fantastically and we look

forward to seeing more of your hard work next term!

Did you know?

Did you know that we have a new house system?

Each child has been organised into a ‘house team’ and will have opportunities to work hard as part of a team to earn points (and

rewards) for their houses.

This is an exciting addition to our school since it means that your child will have opportunities to compete in activities such as Sports Day!

Don’t forget to ask your child which house they are in!

100 % Attendance?Join us in achieving a 100% attendance record! Please try to encourage that your child achieves a 100%

attendance score!
