(we kneel or sit) Holy God, source of life and goodness, all creation rightly gives you praise. In the fullness of time, you sent your Son Jesus Christ, to share our human nature, to live and die as one of us, to reconcile us to you, the God and Father of all. He healed the sick and ate and drank with outcasts and sinners; he opened the eyes of the blind and proclaimed the good news of your kingdom to the poor and to those in need. In all things he fulfilled your gracious will. On the night he freely gave himself to death, our Lord Jesus Christ took bread, and when he had given thanks to you, he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, and said, “ Take, eat: this is my body which is given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.” After supper he took the cup of wine; and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and said, “Drink this, all of you: this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me.” Gracious God, his perfect sacrifice destroys the power of sin and death; by raising him to life you give us life for evermore. Therefore we proclaim the mystery of faith: Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again. Recalling his death, proclaiming his resurrection, and looking for his coming again in glory, we offer you, Father, this bread and this cup. Send your Holy Spirit upon us and upon these gifts, that all who eat and drink at this table may be one body and one holy people, a living sacrifice in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Through Christ, with Christ, and in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory is yours, almighty Father, now and forever. Amen. Our Father… We break this bread,… to share in the body of Christ. We, being many, are one body, for we all share in the one bread. O Lamb of God, who takest away the sin of the world: Have mercy upon us (repeat). O Lamb of God, who takest away the sin of the world: Grant us thy peace. Holy Communion All people are most welcome to come forward to receive God’s Blessing. Those baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are invited to receive His gift to His people: Holy Communion. Those who are not baptized are invited to cross their arms over their chests and be reminded of our Lord’s unaccountable love for all people, regardless of their situation. Do know how welcome you are to join us. MUSIC DURING HOLY COMMUNION: # 85 SHEPHERD OF SOULS, REFRESH AND BLESS # 49 DRAW NEAR AND TAKE A Prayer of thanksgiving Father of all, we give you thanks and praise, that when we were still far off you met us in your Son and brought us home. Dying and living, he declared your love, gave us grace, and opened the gate of glory. May we who share Christ’s body live his risen life; we who drink his cup bring life to others; we whom the Spirit lights give light to the world. Keep us firm in the hope you have set before us, so we and all your children shall be free, and the whole earth live to praise your name; through Christ our Lord. Amen. As we wrestle with our church building’s inaccessibility, we pray: Heavenly Father, you caused this building to be built so many years ago. We pray that you would enable us, the people of this your church, to make this a place of blessing for all people. Guide, we beseech thee, the community here to be able to ensure that all are welcome and able to enter into this place of worship, that they and we might gather in your presence to give thanks to you for the gift and blessing of your Son, Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen. The Final Blessing May our Father, who has through the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ given us the victory, give you joy and peace in your faith, and the courage and desire to share that joy with others. And may the peace of God, which passes all understanding, be upon you, and the blessing of God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost be upon you and all those for whom you have prayed, both this day and always. of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. And also with you.

A moment with the Children, following which the younger ones go to Sunday School.

We pause, in silence, and then begin in prayer, standing:Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hidden. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

GLORIA IN EXCELSISGLORY be to God on high, and in earth peace, good will towards men. We praise thee, we bless thee, we worship thee, we glorify thee, we give thanks to thee for thy great glory, O Lord God, heavenly King, God the Father Almighty.     O Lord, the only-begotten Son, Jesu Christ; O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, that takest away the sin of the world, have mercy upon us. Thou that takest away the sin of the world, receive our prayer. Thou that sittest at the right hand of God the Father, have mercy upon us.     For thou only art holy; thou only art the Lord; thou only, O Christ, with the Holy Ghost, art most high in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

THE COLLECT FOR THE FOURTH SUNDAY AFTER EASTERO ALMIGHTY God, who alone canst order the unruly wills and affections of sinful men: Grant unto thy people, that they may love the thing which thou commandest, and desire that which thou dost promise; that so, among the sundry and manifold changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed, where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The First Reading: Acts 11:1-18 (p.1074 in Pew Bible)Now the apostles and brethren who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God. And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision contended with him, saying, “You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!” But Peter explained it to them in order from the beginning, saying: “I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object descending like a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came to me. When I observed it intently and considered, I saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. And I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter; kill and eat.’ But I said, ‘Not so, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered my mouth.’ But the voice answered me again from heaven, ‘What God has cleansed you must not call common.’ Now this was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven. At that very moment, three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent to me from Caesarea. Then the Spirit told me to go with them, doubting nothing. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered the man’s house. And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, ‘Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter, who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved.’ And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning. Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?”When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”Reader: The Word of the Lord. People: Thanks be to God

PSALM 148  Laudate DominumO PRAISE the LORD from the heavens: / praise him in the heights.

Praise him, all ye angels of his: / praise him, all his host.Praise him, sun and moon: / praise him, all ye stars of light.

Praise him, all ye heavens, / and ye waters that are above the heavens.Let them praise the Name of the LORD; / for he commanded and they were created.

He hath made them fast for ever and ever: /

he hath given them a law which shall not be broken.PRAISE the LORD from the earth, / ye dragons and all deeps;

Fire and hail, snow and vapour, / wind and storm, fulfilling his word;Mountains and all hills; / fruitful trees and all cedars;

Beasts and all cattle; / creeping things and feathered fowls;Kings of the earth, and all peoples; / princes and all judges of the world;

Young men and maidens together; / old men and children;Let them praise the Name of the LORD; /

for his Name only is excellent, and his glory above heaven and earth.

The Second Reading: Revelation 21:1-6 (p. 1217 in pew Bible) Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.Reader: The Word of the Lord. People: Thanks be to God

THE GRADUAL HYMN # 484 IN CHRIST THERE IS NO EAST OR WEST

The Holy Gospel: St. John 13:31-35 (p. 1051 in Bible) Glory to you, Lord Jesus Christ So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him.  If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately. Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come,’ so now I say to you. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”The Gospel of Christ. People: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

The Sermon – The Rector

The Nicene CreedWe believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead , and the life of the world to come. Amen.

THE OFFERTORY HYMN # 508 I HEARD THE VOICE OF JESUS SAY

The Eucharistic Prayer (we stand)The Lord be with you. And also with you.Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.It is right to give our thanks and praise.

It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, always and everywhere to give you thanks, almighty and eternal Father. And now we give you thanks because in his victory over the grave a new age has dawned, the long reign of sin is ended, a broken world is being renewed and humanity is once again made whole, so that we can, with unbridled voices, join with Angels and Archangels and the whole Company of Heaven, as they sing their unending Hymn of Praise:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
