Outlined below is some suggested work that you can work on with your child over the coming week. Included is a suggested timetable. Below we have included some work in the pupils textbooks. If you do not have their books that is no problem. If some of the pages below are completed you can revise the activity. Story time Story: When a Dragon Moves in.

Discuss their favourite part of the story. Discuss what happened at the beginning, the middle and the end.

Draw 3 moments from the story

Before listening to the story ask your child to make a prediction as to what they think the story will be about. Go to www.storylineonline.net and search for the book ‘When a Dragon Moves In’.

Divide a page into 3 boxes.In each box pupils draw a picture to do with the story- this helps them to retell parts of the story.

Dictation Call out the 8 words, one at a time and the child writes the words on a whiteboard, paper (whatever is convenient for you).Adult calls out a word, puts it in a sentence and then says the word on its own again. e.g. log, a frog was on a log, log

Discuss the different shapes- how many straight edges does a cube have? How many straight edges does a cuboid have? How many corners do they have? How many flat faces does a cube, cuboid, cylinder have? How many curved faces does a sphere and a cylinder have? More ideas attached below.

3D shape hunt Go on a 3D shape hunt around the house/ garden. Pupils could take a photo of the 3D shapes they find.

3D shape construction Collect different 3D shapes e.g. cereal boxes, toilet roll etc. and give pupils the opportunity to create and build something.
