GradingLabs & Like other Science classes at Classwork Lakes, this is a lab course. Most of

this portion of your grade comes from labs and in class activities. Participation (being actively engaged, analyzing data, doing) in labs is essential to your understanding of the material.

Homework: Homework will be assigned regularly. Homework will total about 10% of your grade. If you are unsure about something, please email me! Communication is essential!

Late Work: All work is due at the start of class. Assignments turned in after the due date will be considered late. Late papers will be accepted until the start of the next unit for partial credit determined on an individual basis.

Assessments: Quizzes, tests, and performance assessments are in this category. Expect a quiz a week, usually announced. Quizzes will total about 10% of your grade. Tests are at the end of a unit. We will always prepare for tests, so you know what to expect.

Final Exam: End of the semester! Nothing to worry about now.

Grades are earned based on the work you do. All students can be successful in this class, and I am always happy to help! Please monitor your grade so you don’t end up in a panic the week of finals.

This is Big…“To help students achieve their maximum academic potential, the staff will promote an environment which fosters integrity and honorable conduct.” “Cheating: any attempt to defraud, deceive, or mislead the teacher and/or school administration in arriving at an honest evaluation of learning. Cheating includes aiding other students in cheating, such as permitting another student to copy the student’s homework, paper, project, laboratory report, take-home examination, the use of translation devices or programs, etc. for which credit is given.” From the handbook, http://www.chsd117.org/s/handbook/lakes/2015-2016-Lakes-Handbook.pdfIn other words, always do your own work.“When our curriculum involves the handling and/or consumption of food, staff will notify students and parents/guardians in advance. Accommodations and/or alternative assignments will be made available for students with documented allergies.  Please contact the classroom teacher or administration with any questions.”
