Homework Week 3 – Due October 3 rd Grade 2 TLC Reading: The homework program includes 15 minutes of daily reading. Raz Kids has been set up! The students go to www.raz-kids.com , click on Kids Login button, type in the teacher name –mpedersen11, and then find their name and the students know their passwords to get into their account. Spelling: There will be no spelling words or test this week as we are working on the 5 rules of the final silent e in words and story retelling. Please ensure that the homework is dated in the notebook and the work is neatly organized. There are 3 different levels of homework. Yellow, Blue and Red. Please complete the homework level that your teacher has assigned you. All levels: Review the 5 rules of final silent e and finish filling in the chart with other examples of each of the rules. Writing: Students will again be doing a writing assignment using their 6 Senses (including feelings). They will describe the season of fall using each of the 5 senses and also how they feel about this time of year . We have practiced this in class when they were asked to use their 5 senses plus one (Feelings) to describe events. The paragraph should be at least 5 sentences long. They can also draw one picture for each sense before writing

Blue: One sentence for each of the 6 senses using an interesting describing word for each sentence. *use describing words*ensure spelling is correct (Remember to GUM it! – Guess the proper spelling, Underline if not sure, Move on and keep writing. Come back when you are done to check spelling.)*make sure you have used periods at the end of your thoughts or ideas*make sure upper and lowercase letters are used correctly

Red: Write a really descriptive paragraph about autumn. * try to use strong describing words*use connecting words to join related ideas and expand your thoughts (i.e. and, or, so, because)*ensure spelling is correct*make sure you have used periods or try exclamation points at the end of your thoughts or ideas*make sure upper and lowercase letters are used correctly

Math:Math: Please log into your mathletics account and explore the assigned Patterning activities. The mathletics logins are glued to the inside of the homework book.
