Helmet awareness rally program on 30th June 2017. Dengue awareness rally was conducted on 12th September 2017 at Seelapadi. . Immunization awareness rally was conducted on 16th September 2017 at
Seelapadi. Clean India program was conducted held at Dindigul Railway Junction on 27th
September 2017. Awareness campaign for Switch Bharat was conducted 16th November 2017 at
Dindigul railway station. A Cycle rally on awareness of Environmental Pollution was conducted on 21st
January 2018. Awareness for Voter’s day rally on 25th January 2018 at Dindigul city

G.T.N NSS units in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Dindugul were
conducted Swatchhta Pakhwada awareness programme Two wheeler Rally on
11-08-2017. The two wheeler Rally was started by the Thiru. T.G Vinay SP,
Dindigul District, Dindigul. at SP camp office went through bus stand via,
St.Joseph Hr.sec.school and came back to collector camp office. More than 50
NSS Volunteers and 4 NSS Programme Officers participated in the rally.
Blood donation camp jointly organized by Dindigul Blood Bank & G.T.N. Arts
College, Dindigul on 18-08-2017. 50 NSS Volunteers donated the blood in the
camp.
As a part of Swachh Bharat and Environmental preservation activities a camp was
organized at Sabarimala from 30/12/2017 to 10/01/2018.Our NSS Volunteers have taken
great efforts to clean Pampa, Sabarimala and its surroundings. Meanwhile during the

work period NSS Volunteers have given various services such like Medical service and
helping pilgrims to climb Sabarimala temple (ayyappa devotees).Nearly 30 Nss
Volunteers participated in this Camp.
The Government has decided to observe the national Voters’ day on 25/01/2018.In this
connection pledge was taken by our NSS students and they participated in Voters’ rally.
The rally was started from Dindigul Tahsildar office to SMB Matriculation School in
order to “Encourage more young voters to take part in the political process”. Neraly 100
NSS Volunteers participated in this Voters’ day rally.
Our college NSS Volunteers distributed food packs (Annadanam) and served the
pilgrims (Murugan devotees) at Thaipusam festival at Gopalpatti, Dindigul on
26/01/2018.Nearly 25 NSS Volunteers participated in this service.
Anti Leprosy Day (Martyrdom Day of Mahatma Gandhi) is observed on 30th January
2018 all over our Nation every year. On this Occasion, the day will be marked by
administration of a pledge. Our NSS students have taken pledge for “To increase the
public awareness of the leprosy diseases” Nearly 60 NSS students participated in this
pledge ceremony.
Cycle Day was celebrated in our college by our NSS Volunteers to create awareness
about air pollution and its impact on 05/02/2018.Cycle day rally started from our college
to Dindigul Town bus stand. Nearly 50NSS students participated in this programme.
During the Academic year 2017 -2018, 150 NSS Volunteers donated Blood (of all NSS
Units) to the following Hospital in and around Dindigul District.

iii. Kasthuriba Hospital, Gandhigram

To groom the students of our college into disciplined and humanistic citizens the YRC of our
college patronizes multifold of activities. Activities undertaken by our college YRC unit are
listed as follows:
Our College YRC Unit adopted Dindigul GH for Swatch Bharath Scheme on 28th July
2017. All Volunteers clean Dindigul GH periodically.
Our College YRC Unit planted around Three Hundred saplings around Rajapond on
21st September 2017 at Tirchy road Seelapadi Village, Dindigul.
Our College YRC Unit and Students counseling cell organized fine-tuning semi nor
to I, II years Students Swamy Swarupananda delivered a lecture on 07th October 2017.

Our College YRC Unit Indian Red cross Society organized one day special camp to
our volunteers on first aid and disaster management and pollution control, on 08 th
February 2018 one Hundred Students participated.

Conducted Entrepreneurship awareness programme for Women Students.

6.3.1 Curriculum Development
The Autonomous system is introduced from this academic year. CBCS is followed in all programmes In all programmes the contents of various course titles were restructured. Subject experts from other Colleges & University Nominees are included in the
curriculum development.
6.3.2 Teaching and Learning
Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was arranged on Outcome Based Education. Industrial and field visits are arranged for students to arouse interest to become
entrepreneurs. Encouraging staff members to attend seminars, conferences and workshop Motivating staff members to carry out research leading to Ph.D., degree. All departments are provided with department libraries, Computer for benefiting both the
staff and the students. Project for Computer Science Students.
6.3.3 Examination and Evaluation
Continuous evaluation through test, assignment, Quiz. Results are published online, mark statement having 07 security features / with photo.
Internal Test
Two Internal Tests, each carrying 30 marks, with an average of 15 marks are conducted. 5 marks each for Assignment and Quiz Programme are conducted. The above marks are averaged to 25 marks.
External Examinations
The Examinations are done as per the guidance of the Examination Committee formed under the autonomous system.
Results are published online.

Department of computer Science (SSC) have received their minor project from UGC for the year 2017-2018.
There is a separate Research Committee which monitors the research and development activities of the college.
The Departments of Commerce and Chemistry are recognized as Research Centres. The PG & Research Centre of Commerce has produced 19 Doctorates. The PG & Research Centre of Chemistry has produced 06 Doctorates. Nine Research Guides supervise the Ph.D. scholars in various programmes.

Faculty and staff members are recruited as per the guidelines of UGC / MHRD and Government of Tamil Nadu.
Faculty and staff members are being appointed for the regular unfilled vacancies in aided posts salaried by the Management on ad hoc basis
Faculty and Staff members for all Self Supporting courses are recruited based on the recommendations of the committees constituted by the management.

No capitation fee is collected from the students. As per State Government reservation policy, through Admission Committee. Transparency in admission is followed, scrutiny of applications is done in each
department and the merit list is computerized. The selection lists and Waiting lists are displayed in the college notice board.
Admission for full time Ph.D. research is systematized by the research committee as per Madurai Kamaraj University guidelines.
Preference is given to Sports students in order to promote sportsmanship and to attract sports students to the college.
6.4 Welfare schemes for
a) Staff
Personal loans can be availed by staff members from THIRIFT Society. Festival Advance of Rs.5000/- has been given to both teaching and non-teaching self
supporting staff members. Financial crisis faced by the self supporting staff members are resolved from the
Management Fund.
b) Students
All students are covered under group insurance scheme through The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd.(A Govt. of India Undertaking)
Management scholarships for deserved students. Tuition fee waiver for students who score more than 75% in their summative
examinations. Alumni scholarship is available in the department of Commerce. RO purified water is provided. Scholarships for students from Alumni Association are being arranged every year. A Stationery shop from Alumni Association is functioning. Redington, Chennai, Short-Term Certificate Courses in Computer Department. Short Term Certificate Courses are conducted to increase their chances for employability.

Water treatment technologies are used for treating underground bore well water. The Lab Technicians of Physics Departments are given training to operate the water treatment plant.
Periodically planting tree saplings in the campus. To save electricity, tube lights have been replaced by CFL lights periodically. NCC cadets and NSS volunteers periodically conduct rallies on environmental related
issues in association with NGOs and Govt. Sectors. College maintains about 2500 trees of various species to enrich the greenery of the
campus.
