1.01 GENERAL Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, equipment and incidentals required to provide _____ (QTY.) solids handling submersible centrifugal sewage pump(s) as specified herein. 2.01 OPERATING CONDITIONS Each submersible pump shall be rated at _____ HP, _____ Volts, 3 Phase, 60 Hz, 1725 RPM. The unit shall produce _____ GPM at _____ feet of TDH. ___ The pump motor shall be an Inverter Duty type, being used with a Variable Speed Controller ___ The pump shall have a 3 rd party rating for use in an area classified as a Class I Division 1 Group C & D hazardous location The submersible pump shall be non-overloading and be capable of operating continuously when partially or completely submerged without the need of any external cooling devices such as water jacket. The reserve service factor shall be a minimum of 1.15. The submersible pump shall pass a 3" spherical solid. The submitted performance curve shall show, in addition to the head and flow rate, the efficiency and motor rating. The curve data shall be per the SWPA (Submersible Wastewater Pump Assoc.) approved curve format. The pump housing configuration shall have a ___ 4" flanged horizontal discharge. ___ 6" flanged horizontal discharge. 3.01 CONSTRUCTION The submersible pump shall be a Zoeller Engineered Products Model _________. The castings shall be constructed of Class 30 cast iron. The motor housing shall be air filled and cooled by an adequately sized motor frame. Designs that incorporate water jackets or rely on the circulation of pumped wastewater are not acceptable. All external-mating parts shall be machined and sealed with a Buna-N O-Ring. All fasteners exposed to the liquid shall be 300 series stainless steel. The power and control cable entry into the lead connection chamber shall be epoxy encapsulated for positive moisture sealing. The motor shall be protected with a tandem mechanical seal arrangement with each seal having a separate spring assembly. The oil-filled seal chamber located between the two mechanical seals shall contain 2 probes to detect seal leakage. The upper and lower ball bearings shall be capable of handling all thrust loads. The pump housing shall be fitted with a wear ring. The top shall be fitted with an adequately supported lifting bail. 4.01 ELECTRICAL POWER CORD The pump shall be supplied with 50' of multi conductor power cord. It shall be SO type cord capable of continued exposure to the pumped liquid. Power cord shall be sized for the rated full load amp loading of the pump in accordance with the National Electrical Code. 4.01 ELECTRICAL POWER CORDThe pump shall be supplied with 50' of multi conductor power cord. It shall be SO type cord capable of continued exposure to the pumped liquid. Power cord shall be sized for the rated full load amp loading of the pump in accordance with the National Electrical Code. Anti-wicking control shall be provided by an epoxy encapsulated lead connection chamber. All conductor leads shall terminate at a terminal board that is permanently cast into the epoxy sealed cable entry area.

5.01 MOTORThe air-filled motor shall be a Class H insulated NEMA B design rated for continuous duty. At maximum load, the winding temperature will not exceed 250 degrees F unsubmerged. The motor design shall be capable of being certified for use in Class I Division 1 Group C & D locations by Factory Mutual (FM). Three normally closed, automatic reset thermostats, connected in series, shall be embedded in the motor windings to safely shut down the motor upon opening.

6.01 BEARINGS AND SHAFTUpper and lower ball bearings made of high carbon chromium steel shall be provided to prevent shaft deflection by withstanding all thrust and radial loads with a minimum L10 bearing life of 25,000 hours at any design point on the curve. The one piece motor shaft shall be made of stainless steel and be precision machined.

7.01 SEALSPump shall have a dual mechanical seal configuration with the seals mounted in tandem. The inner seal shall be constructed of Silicon Carbide/Carbon/Viton and the outer seal constructed of Silicon Carbide/Silicon Carbide/Viton components. It shall be equal to a Crane Type 21 configuration. Double seals with a common intermediate spring shall not be considered equal. A dual probe moisture sensing system shall detect the entrance of moisture and provide an alarm signal.

8.01 IMPELLERThe impeller shall be a fully balanced dual vane enclosed design with a stainless steel wear ring. It shall be capable of passing a 3.0" solid sphere. It shall have pump out vanes located on the back shroud to keep debris away from the seal area. It is to be keyed and bolted to the shaft. Attempts to improve efficiency by coating impeller shall not be allowed.

9.01 PAINTINGThe pump shall be painted with a black "Aqualite" enamel coating.___ An optional black two-part high solids epoxy coating shall be applied to all external cast surfaces.

10.01 SERVICEABILITYComponents required for the repair of the pump shall be readily available. Components such as mechanical seals and bearings shall not be of a proprietary design and be available from local industrial supply houses. Special tools shall not be required to service the pump. A network of service stations shall be available nationwide in those cases where service requirements are beyond the scope of in-house service mechanics.

11.01 SUPPORTThe pump shall have cast iron support legs enabling it to be a freestanding unit. The legs will be high enough to allow a 3" solid sphere to pass below the housing.

For those situations requiring a rail system, the wet well depth is ______ feet. Rail system with pump suspended from a base elbow by means of a sealed pump plate attached to the pump. Rail and guide brackets shall be SS. The 2" Rail pipes are not included with the rail system and shall be provided by the contractor. The following rail systems are available:4" pumps - ____ 4" X 4" rail system

____ 4" X 6" rail system

6" pumps - ____ 6" X 6" rail system____ 6" X 8" rail system

____ SS intermediate stabilizer brackets are required for each 10' section of rail pipe greater than 10 feet.____ SS lifting cable shall be provided for each pump.

12.01 TESTINGEach completed and assembled pump shall receive a routine factory test, consisting of testing the motor windings, a dry run operational test and rotational checks.

____ An optional performance test under submerged conditions____ An optional certified test based on the Hydraulic Institute or SWPA Test Standard for submersible pumps.____ An optional hydrostatic test performed on the pump hosing based on the SWPA Test Standard.____ Start up services at the job site by an authorized representative of Zoeller Engineered Products shall be required. Start-up

report form ZM1074 should be completed in the presence of the installers and returned to the Project Engineer or Zoeller Engineered Products.

13.01 WARRANTYThe one year warranty for permanent municipal wastewater lift station installations shall go into effect upon receipt of start up report, establishing the date at which the equipment is placed into operation.
