You can use stuffed animals, puppets, action figures, dolls, or sock puppets.

You will need a tabletop to stage your musical.

Share your musical with those at home with you.

Make sure you take a bow at the end.

Independent Practice:Character Trait:Tolerance/Acceptance is a willingness to accept people whose race, religion, opinions, or habits are different from your own.

1. Draw a picture using only one crayon.

2. Draw the same picture using as many different colors as you would like.

Take a moment to reflect on each picture that you drew. - Which picture do you like best? - Which picture would you want to display at home?

What a boring world we would live in if we were all the same, like the picture you drew with one color. The diversity in our world is what makes it so wonderful, just like the

many colors that you included in the picture that used all of the crayons.

3. Watch a read aloud of The Crayon Box that Talked

Reflect on the story: -Wasn’t it silly for the crayons to dislike each other just because of their color? Each crayon had something special to offer to the picture.

4. Now share your answers to the following question on Flipgrid:

Why is it important to accept people who are different than us?

Optional Resources:Mrs. Cabral’s students check out her webpage https://fitzgeraldes.pwcs.edu/class_pages/resource_teachers/catherine_cabrelExtension/Application/Critical Thinking:

Creative Thinking Questions Extensions Flipgrid Suiggle1. What ices, other than ice cream, can you think of?2. Write a story about a gardener who just discovered a 30-pound

tomato in his garden. What does he do with it?3. You are out of napkins. What else can you use to wipe your

mouth?4. Design a coupon you would like your teacher to give to you.5. List ways to stay cool on a hot day.

Design and make an obstacle course at home. How fast can you complete it?

https://flipgrid.com/5a164990

Low-tech Math: Get a deck of cards, and play a game with your family. Remove all face cards and divide the deck in half. Flip over cards one by one to make two piles: odds and evens. After the fastest flipper puts down his last card, he calls out, “Stop!” and his opponent freezes. The opponent checks both piles. If a mistake is found, the opponent gets to finish flipping her own cards into piles until she finishes or makes a mistake (at which point it would revert to the other player). Play continues until all piles are correct and a speed racer crosses the finish line!

Low-tech Reading: Create your own non-fiction book about your family. Use your text features: title, heading, pictures, captions, maps, table of contents, bold text, and labels. Send it to your teacher and it can be in any language.
