This is an example of a standard primative. Standard primatives is a parametric 3D object, we can change the parameters here. This standard primitave can be changed by altering its parameters for length, width and height and very importantly its segments (press the f4 key to view segments). THIS IS PARAMETRIC MODELLING

A face is a 3 sided polygon in 3Ds Max and if it has 4 it is refered as a polygon.

If you right click your object and select Object properties it allows you to see how many faces and verteces you have on that object.

It is very important to make sure you choose the correct unit setup.

I have created a cube using the keyboard entry method and these are my settings.

Box Modelling with Modifiers:

We are going to use an Edit Poly modifier to our polygon; this form of modelling is non-destructive. I am looking at this object in wire-frame mode and I have selected half of my object by selecting the

sub-object polygon level. I have deleted half of my object by selecting half of it and clicking delete. The symmetry modifier should be at the top of the stack.

You need to select edge under the edit poly modifier and then select show end result.
