Welcome to First Grade! In our class, we use tables, not individual desks. Therefore, all students must have a plastic crayon box for their supplies (approximately 8x5x2 in.).

In the crayon box, please have: 3 sharpened Ticonderoga pencils 1 box of 24 Crayola crayons 1 large eraser 1 large glue stick 1 highlighter 1 scissor: Friskar’s work best

In a labeled Ziploc, place the remaining supplies that I will store for your child’s future use:

box of Ticonderoga pencils box of 24 Crayola crayons 1 highlighter 2 large erasers 5 large glue sticks 4 pack of Expo dry erase markers

All students will need 4 black & white composition notebooks. Label them with your child’s name. Reading Notebook #1, Reading Notebook #2, Math, Science/ Social Studies.

All students need a 1-inch binder with a plastic view finder on the front. This is where you can store a paper on the front of the binder. This will be their Poetry Binder.

In a separate labeled Ziploc bag, each child will need their own pair of headphones to use with our computers. Do not send ear buds.

In labeled envelope, $7.00 for subscription to Scholastic News for the year and a Primary notebook (which I have already purchased).

Items to share with the class:

Page 7: €¦  · Web view4 boxes of baby wipes. 2 packages of copy paper . 3 large rolls of paper towels. headphones. 2 large pack of paper-plates ( no styro-foam) 2 packs of zip-locks

1 box of tissues 1 roll of paper towels 1 box of baby wipes

It is worth the time to write your child’s name on everything, including individual crayons and pencils. This will allow your child to hold onto their items as long as possible. We cut and glue every day, large glue sticks are a must. Ticonderoga pencils sharpen the best, therefore they last longer.

I have colored pencils, markers, and a sharpener. Please do not send these items.

I will also supply a plastic folder that your child will use daily.

Please be sure you have supplies at home to do homework too!

Thank you!Kristen Green Class 1-2 Room [email protected]

filled with meaningful experiences and rewarding academic success. It is very important that we work together to make sure that your child receives the best education possible.

In our classrooms, we will be engaged daily in lessons and activities that are aligned to the new Common Core Standards. The students will take State Exams in English Language Arts and Math. We will be assigning homework every night, including Fridays and school breaks. Remember, homework is a great way to establish routines, responsibilities, and reinforce our lessons of the day. We feel that parents play a vital role in their child’s education so we ask you to support us in motivating them to develop good work and study habits. If your child sees that you value their education, they will value it as well.

Our Behavior Policy is a simple one and includes some of the following rules. We expect that all children be respectful to others and to be honest at all times. The Third Grade Team will not tolerate stealing, cheating, or any inappropriate behavior.

4. Personal Belongings – Please put your child’s name on everything he or she brings to school. This will help prevent items from being misplaced.
