End of year 1 – summer of fun pack 2020 As well as continuing to practise reading, writing and numbers at home this summer we wanted to give you some fun learning ideas to explore… Literacy based fun *Please continue to access spelling shed, phonics play and phonics bloom 1. Sight word noughts and crosses – can you get three in a row? 2. Water balloon phonics – can you find a word ending to match the initial sound – say and splat! 3. Paint over the chalk sight words with water 4. Tricky words hop scotch 5. Bookworm challenge – each book your child reads they get to add on another part of the worm 6. Outdoor name painting on big paper 7. Word snakes and ladders - Roll the dice to move along the sight word buttons, go back if you land on a snake. 8. Sunshine journal – each day add a ray to the sun telling us what you have done 9. Creating a scrap book/ diary of any adventures you have 10. Making a den and writing instructions of how you built it 11. If you do any cooking could you write down a shopping list of ingredients or even the recipe?
