Covid-19 School Closure Work
Student: Liam Wednesday 3 rd June 2020
Lovely to see you on zoom yesterday I hope you enjoyed it.
Try what you can from the work on my main page, from here and from Ms. O Byrnes page. Just pick a few things you’d like to do and try your best. If you could do some reading, some writing and practice your tables and spelling every day that would be great and then just pick a few more activities from the options that you’d like to do to keep yourself busy and your brain active. The most important thing is to keep happy while doing just a bit of learning.
Ive set a an account on www.ixl.com this can be used for maths and English

Meditation/Relaxation: Listen to a meditation app www.headspace.com/meditation/kids or check out these
challenges
1. At the same time of every day, think of one thing to be thankful for2. Lie comfortably on your back on the floor. Move your attention around your body by tensing and clenching
your muscles and then relaxing them. Hunch your shoulders, then let them go. Make your hands into fists then tighten the muscles in your arms before relaxing them. Continue to move around your body repeating this process.
3. Lie with your back on the floor and place a soft toy on your tummy. Breathe in and out slowly and deeply and try to concentrate on the way your toy rises and falls with your breathing
4. Sit in a room with your eyes closed. Ask someone else to spray a perfume or deodorant at the other side of the room and, keeping your eyes closed, try to notice the exact moment when the smell reaches you
If you tried them, how did they feel???
Keep a journal and write down one thing you are thankful for each day – you can do this in your copy or type it out.
A simple sentence like ‘Today I am thankful for’
Do you have somewhere to go to ‘chill out’ – Set up a space in the house where you can go just to be alone and chill out for a few mins. Set up a little den with a blanket and some cushions and toys you like. Add some music and nice soft lights if you have then.
Spend some time reading yourself and being read to.
Play a board game with your family – ask someone what they want to play?
Talk through any questions/anxieties/worries you may have.
Remember to ask for help if you need it.
