• Career Path: After graduating from UVM, I had several internships in the museum field before deciding to go to graduate school. While pursuing my degree, I also worked full-‐time at NYU's Stern School of Business in MBA Career Development, before starting my first museum job in the Education Department at the Intrepid Museum in 2008.
• Job Description: The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, based on a WWII-‐era aircraft carrier, is a science and history museum in New York City with a robust education program. As the Education & Access Coordinator, I work on projects to increase accessibility for visitors with special needs, including grant-‐writing, planning and implementing programs, and teaching children and adults of all needs and abilities.

I do machinery component design (math), 3D and 2D modeling, on-‐sight inspection and reports. Based on the way our company is structured my work varies widely depending on which partner or associate I am working for.

• Career Path: For over 10 years, I have worked in non-‐profit fundraising, primarily for academic institutions, but now in an international development focused role. In my current and past positions I have had the opportunity to do frontline fundraising, as well as strategy, communications and event work. The positions I have held have all led nicely to the next in terms of growth and promotion.

• Job Description: Women’s World Banking (WWB) is an international network of microfinance institutions. Based in NYC, WWB works with institutions to create financial products, services and educational opportunities for women and girls that will economically empower them to create better futures for themselves, their families and communities. Our technology determines whether an email address is deliverable in real-‐time and without sending any mail. I built the core technology and manage product.

• Career Path: I started in health insurance sales and then I realized there were better opportunities in law. I started my own firm in 2010 and have been with my current firm since February of this year.
• Job Description: I represent start-‐ups and small businesses; helping them get up and running, protect their ideas in the market, hire staff, obtain financing and merge with other companies and enter into agreements for everything from licensing their trademarks to manufacturing.

• Career Path: After college, I worked in the fashion industry for three years in graphic design and product development. I left my first job to pursue a career that merged my interests in photography and business and began working at Glasshouse in 2010.
• Job Description: I am the lead photo agent representing seven commercial photographers. I am responsible for marketing and promoting the photographers as well as negotiating and handling all advertising and editorial jobs. When working at a boutique agency there is room for innovative practices and new ideas.

• Job Description: I currently manage a group of urban planners responsible for the development of DOT's capital street improvement program, prioritizing and initiating projects (e.g. infrastructure state-‐of-‐good-‐repair, safety improvements, pedestrian plazas, transit and bicycle enhancements) and ensuring that their designs meet the goals of the city for safer, greener, more efficient and livable streets.

• Job Description: KIPP NYC College Prep is part of a network of free, public non-‐profit charter schools. As a Career and Summer Opportunities Counselor, I work with high school students to help provide career guidance and access to summer opportunities. I also coordinate career speaker events that occur monthly for the juniors and seniors.

• Job Description: Riverkeeper is a member-‐supported, non-‐profit watchdog organization dedicated to defending the Hudson River and the drinking water of nine million New Yorkers. Riverkeeper’s environmental attorneys help agencies to enforce local, state and federal laws that protect the Hudson River and NYC’s drinking watershed. I coordinate our outreach, volunteer and internship programs.

Transitioned to career counseling at a law school in 2008 and took current position in 2010.

On their websites are job postings. Don't limit yourself to a particular agency. You will find that many agencies have areas that can benefit from your background.”
• Career Path: Interned at Sanitation during the summer of 1982 (between my first and second years of grad school). In 1983 was hired by Sanitation and worked on the operational implementation of recycling in NYC. In 1988 was hired by Transportation to analyze the fleet needs for the agency. Slowly worked my way up in a number of positions prior to being selected as Deputy Commissioner for Sidewalk & Inspection Management.
• Job Description: As NYC Department of Transportation, Deputy Commissioner, Sidewalk & Inspection Management, I oversee inspection and repair of 12,750 miles of sidewalks, monitor activities of contractors working in the sidewalks and streets, repair and construct curbs, medians, pedestrian ramps and traffic islands, and respond to emergency incidents. My division is actively involved in providing additional space for pedestrians and alternative modes of transportation by constructing protected bike lanes, refuge islands and plazas.

You just have to market yourself properly, put yourself in a position to find them or for them to find you, and be open to any new experiences.”
• Career Path: When I returned from a post-‐graduation trip to Europe I put my resume up on every website and sent it out to all the contacts I made from networking events and was contacted by Polaris on Career Builder. Started out as a technology resource supporting the web-‐based information systems we had at the time, and assisted non-‐technical consultants on their projects.
• Job Description: I am currently managing multiple projects including implementation of our newest technology, a system that will be accessible by every region of the world, and a data feed project to multiple validated systems. Being a consultant requires a lot of travel at times, long hours and hard work, especially at a small company like Polaris.
• Polaris is a pharmaceutical compliance consulting company that does management consulting, which assists pharma companies in following laws, regulations, and provides industry guidance on how to properly interact with customers and patients, and technology consulting.

• Career Path: I have had a wide range of responsibilities through the years including the development and launching of NBA TV and NBA.com; extensive work on the league’s “I Love This Game” and “Trophy Love” promotional campaigns; and Emmy Award-‐winning documentaries The NBA at 50 and Whatever Happened to Michael Ray? in addition to The Year of the Yao.
• Prior to my current position, I worked as the league’s Senior Vice President of Field Production, a department in which I held multiple positions since its inception in 1990. I also served as an editor and began my stint at the NBA as a production assistant at NBA Entertainment (NBAE) in 1988.
• Job Description: Now in my 25th year with the NBA, I direct all NBAE content across league assets, including NBA.com, NBA TV, and the league’s various social media platforms. In addition to overseeing NBAE’s editorial direction, I run the league’s assignment desk, play an integral part in broadcast operations, and supervise NBAE’s field production at all league global events, including NBA All-‐Star, The Finals, Europe Live, and the NBA Draft.

• Career Path: Upon graduation from UVM in 2009 I interned at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. My internship experience led me to learning about a training program at Sotheby's, which I

completed in just under a year. My interest in art and experience in client services led me to a full time position working for Gander & White in 2011.
• Job Description: Gander & White is an art operations firm: we manage importing and exporting art, overseeing shipment and installations of art for events, such as Art Basel Miami and The Armory Show, and, storing art for collections and on-‐going projects. Our clients range from private collectors, galleries, interior design firms and large institutions. My day-‐to-‐day is very fast paced, managing all aspects of my client’s projects from initial project quotes to planning how to pack, handle, ship and install art. Organization, due diligence and following up are the key to success in art logistics.

Working in a temporary capacity allows you to see a company from the inside, in order to determine what types of opportunities may be a match for your skill set, and allows you to hone in on what skills you need to be competitive for a position you are interested in. It also gives you insider access to a company culture as well as to expand your network and learn from others' experience.”
• Career Path: Started career in publishing, focusing on the editorial side of finance and investment trade books, segued into a marketing role for the same type of product. Continued my career in sales and marketing roles in finance, later moving into luxury goods working for an established lifestyle jewelry brand. Responsibilities included relationship management, marketing strategy, advertising and events.
• Job Description: Since studying art history at UVM, I have always considered jewelry and design as an art form. Over the years as a hobby, I've helped friends and family with their jewelry and gemstone purchases, many for milestone events, and designed custom pieces for myself. Currently, I advise private clients, educating them about gemstones and concept design and deliver a finished piece. I specialize in diamonds and bridal jewelry, as well as sourcing of new and vintage luxury timepieces.

Once inside you can find mentors and quickly figure out how your unique skills can be cultivated and sharpened. • Career Path: Got into the literary, performance, and journalism scene in NYC after doing my Masters ('06-‐'08) and found a lack of innovation. Started a few companies in a row designed to bring innovative tech (specifically mobile) approaches to the distribution and discovery of content with depth. The first was Electric Literature, then Broadcastr, now SPUN. All have received national and international press coverage in print, on TV, and online.
• Job Description: I do three things. 1) User Experience Design. This is heavily informed by Behavior Psychology and the research of BJ Fogg at Stanford. I had an opportunity to study with BJ earlier this year. 2) Managing iPhone development and feature implementation for all iOS projects. 3) I'm the outside guy, which means I speak at conferences about what we're doing and meet with media companies to discuss partnering with our companies.

• Career Path: Over the past twenty years, I have held a diverse range of sales & marketing roles primarily with trade book publishers but also with two late-‐stage start-‐ups (eBay, Zinio). I temporarily left publishing after 10 years to pursue my MBA and "boomeranged" back to that industry although I have steadily moved toward digital media ever since; be it book, magazine or other forms of content.
• Job Description: Oversee entire trade books vertical as lead business development person selling to top publishers in North America. Innodata is primarily known for converting content to eBooks offshore for top retail platforms such as Amazon, Apple and others, but we also work directly with information publishers (Thomson Reuters, Wolters Kluwer) for IT outsourcing and consulting around content management or editorial workflow.
