Today marks the 3rd annual World Day of the Poor. The Psalmist,
for today is writing in a time an economic disparity, much like
our own time. We are called to look to the Cross to look to
Jesus, and to respond out of love for our neighbor, our sisters
and brothers in Christ are suffering, they are the poor. How will
you respond to those in most need?
Ladies, please start baking! Our CWL

will be held following the 9:00 and
11:00 AM Masses. Baked goods may be dropped off

The Archbishop’s Appeal
What does it mean to hope in the Lord? The seven brothers and their mother who are featured in the first reading from 2 Maccabees both know and understand what it means. One of the brothers declares that everything he has received came from God, and he hopes to get them back again. Another brother speaks of the “hope God, the King of the Universe, will raise us up to an everlasting renewal of life”.
Living as stewards of God is living lives of hope. In his letter to the Thessalonians, Paul speaks of the “good hope” we have of God’s grace. Paul reminds us that the Lord “will strengthen and guard you”. The hope we have in the Lord is what gives us the total trust in Him which allows us to live lives of stewardship.
Jesus encourages us to have hope in the living God in today’s Gospel. In our approach to life, that everything we have and are comes from God, exemplifies our confidence in His goodness and love. We are to take God’s love and spread it among those around us through sharing and service. One of the ways to fulfill this is by participating in the pastoral programs of the Archdiocese by donating to the Annual Appeal. Through the Annual Appeal we reach out to others in an anonymous way that only God can see. It’s one of the ways we multiply our hands to reach out to others in response to God’s grace in us, a natural and fulfilling way to live. As followers of Christ we are optimistic. As Helen Keller once said, “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence. [Adapted from www.catholicsteward.com-2013/10]

RCSD Distinguished Alumni Nominations The Regina Catholic School Division theme is, “Let Your Light Shine.” This theme is based on Matthew 5:16, which says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” We believe our almuni are doing good works, letting their lights shine before all the world, and giving glory to our Father in heaven. Because we feel so strongly that our alumni are following Matthew’s gospel, we want to recognize those who are outstanding representatives of Regina Catholic Schools. Do you know a graduate of our school division who is letting their light shine boldly? We invite you to nominate them. We are accepting nominations now; the deadline for nominations is Monday, November 25, 2019. More details and nomination forms are online now at www.rcsd.ca/Board/DistinguishedAlumni. Thank you for helping us identify those who are spreading the word of God beyond the halls of our schools.

TF164: Cooperating With Evil - How Can That Be A Thing?Election day saw every one of us cooperating with evil in one way or another. What exactly do the Church and moral theology have to say about such a situation, and how does this apply in our daily lives beyond election years? Deacon Eric and Dr. Brett spend some time defining terms, discussing options, and asking that all-important question “How can that be a thing?” This week on Thinking Faith!http://thinkingfaith.libsyn.com/tf164-cooperating-with-evil-how-can-that-be-a-thing
