Abbiamo visto la sua stella

in oriente e siamo venuti

per adorare il Signore.

Alleluia.

L’EPIFANIA, che significa “manifestazione del Signore”, ha sempre rivestito un particolare significato per i cristiani:

celebra e realizza l’incontro di Dio con l’uomo, e’ la festa dell’amore gratuito con cui Dio ha raggiunto l’umanita’.

I guidei sono tornati dall’esilio, Gerusalemme e’ stata ricostruita, il

tempio e’ risorto. Isaia prevede e annuncia (I Lettura) i tempi messianici quando Gerusalemme, rivestita di splendore,

sara’ posta al centro dell’universo. Tutte le nazioni avanzeranno in corteo verso

la citta’ della luce e della pace.

Con l’Epifania, si concludono le feste natalizie. Il proverbio dice:

”L’Epifania tutte le feste si porta via!” Vogliamo ringraziare, i cori, ministri

dell’Eucaristia, uscieri, lettori e tutti quelli che ogni domenica sono presenti per

allietare la nostra Liturgia. Un ringraziamento a tutti quelli che

hanno decorato la Chiesa, dentro e fuori e quelli che hanno realizzato il presepe.

The Solemnity of the Epiphany is celebrated

either on January 6 or on the Sunday between

January 2 and January 8. The word “epiphany”

comes from the Greek epiphainen, a verb that

means “to shine upon, to manifest, or to make

known”. Therefore, the feast of the Epiphany

celebrates the many ways that Christ has made

Himself known to the world, mainly the three

events that manifested the mission and divinity

of Christ: the visit of the Magi, the baptism of

Jesus, and the miracle at Cana. The visit

of the Magi is emphasized on the Epiphany,

and Christ’s baptism is celebrated the

first Sunday that follows.

We extend our sympathy and prayers to the

family of VINCENZO ALONZI who passed

away on January 1, 2020 at the age of 85.

The funeral was celebrated on Saturday,

January 4, 2020 at our Parish. He will be greatly missed

by his family and friends. May he rest in peace. Amen.
