St. Rose School We Exist To Bring The Catholic Faith To Life Messenger February 2020 Principal’s Message The month of February evokes thoughts of LOVE...the people we love, the hobbies and activities we love to do, learning, laughing, singing, praying...all the joyful moments that help us to love our lives. During this month also, our Virtues of the Week help us to practice PATIENCE , listening to others; waiting one’s turn... ORDERLINESS , establishing order in your daily life; keeping one’s space and appearance orderly and clean... MODESTY , follow the dress code; recognize your dignity as a person... MODERATION , set limits for oneself; create a balance in one’s life by limiting the use of media, consumption of addition of foods and treats… This is an appropriate combination of virtues since the end of February brings us to the beginning of our Lenten journey. It seems we are always preparing...preparing for the coming of Christ and preparing ourselves, in a special way, for the walk with Christ to Calvary. What kind of life are we preparing for?. As Fr. Michael B. shared on Wednesday…”Spend some time in silence. Ask God, what do you want me to do in my life? In that silence will there be any inkling that He may want you to become a priest or enter religious life?” Let God speak to you in the silence. Listen in the silence, to your heart. And most of all, let God’s great LOVE pour in. ...Amen... The Peace of Christ be with you, Ms. Suzanne Smoley 1

Principal’s Message

The month of February evokes thoughts of LOVE...the people we love, the hobbies and activities we love to do, learning, laughing, singing, praying...all the joyful moments that help us to love our lives.  During this month also, our Virtues of the Week help us to practice PATIENCE, listening to others; waiting one’s turn...ORDERLINESS, establishing order in your daily life; keeping one’s space and appearance orderly and clean...MODESTY, follow the dress code; recognize your dignity as a person...MODERATION, set limits for oneself; create a balance in one’s life by limiting the use of media, consumption of addition of foods and treats… This is an appropriate combination of virtues since the end of February brings us to the beginning of our Lenten journey. We are St. Rose School

Mission   St. Rose of Lima Catholic School develops leaders. We recognize each person who enters our school as a unique gift from God, intent on learning. As a community of faith, we grow spiritually, academically, socially, and physically, prepared to live as Disciples of Jesus. Together, we promote Gospel Values and strive to bring the Catholic Faith to life.

Philosophy  With the message of Jesus Christ always as our foundation, we the faculty and staff of St. Rose School strive to develop the whole child. We endeavor to instill Catholic values which will foster human formation and integrate faith, culture, and life. Recognizing the parent as the primary educator, we - parents, faculty, staff and the faith community - seek together to create an atmosphere in which each child may develop to his or her full potential.
