ESL Center (Multi –Level Learning Lab) Large lab sectioned into 3 areas for 3 different learning levels.

Computer Lab (Plato, Aztec, Career Readiness Software, DVDs, VHS) for ASE , ABE, and ESL

Small Computer Lab: Small classroom with 7 computers and table for instructor facilitated courses online.

Classrooms: 5 dedicated classrooms for ASE and ABE classes and modules. ( 4 in Walnut and 1 in WLC)

Most ABE/ASE instructors have their core credential already and the 3 that don’t are well on their way.

Most instructors are well on their way to completing the ASE credential.

ESL instructors have completed the online ESL courses.

Module Assessment


The following scale will be used in this course.

S Student satisfactorily completed the module by demonstrating a minimum of 80% proficiency in the competency objectives for that module. The student will progress to the next module in line with his or her learning goal.

U Student did not meet the attendance requirements of the class and did not go

through proper steps to be ‘withdrawn’ from the class. The student attended only sporadically or abruptly stopped attending at all with no explanation. The student will repeat the module upon returning to the program. Under special, limited circumstances; a student may be allowed to take a module-specific post-assessment in an attempt to place out of the unsatisfactorily completed module.

W Due to an unforeseen event or circumstance, a student may speak with the

module instructor and request to be withdrawn from the module. Upon returning to school, the student will repeat the module from which they had previously withdrawn. Under special, limited circumstances; a student may be allowed to take a module- specific post-assessment in an attempt to place out of the withdrawn module.

I Student satisfactorily attended module class sessions and completed

assignments, tests and post-assessment to the best of his or her ability. However, the student did not demonstrate a minimum proficiency of 80% and will continue to study the module competencies for an additional module cycle.
